You might just keep track of what you are eating on paper. Write it all down in a little book and just average the portions. Keep in mind that the book is for you and no one else is judging you. Set a reasonable goal based on your current weight. (don't expect to lose 20 lbs per wk. That's sick.) You have 7 wks. Try 5-8lbs per wk. Eat a balance of fruit, vegi's, meat, dairy, and a few carbs. Treat yourself once a week. No booze until you hit your ideal weight! Do not let yourself get hungry. Make fruit smoothies inbetween meals from ice, fruit and nonfat yogurt. When you feel the urge to eat junk, put on your earphones and walk around. It goes away. That's how I quit smoking. TV was a killer!

You need to have a realistic goal for your body type, try paying attention to how your clothes feel on you, rather than the number on the scale, and hopefully a bit of information on how your body works it's weight.

Try modest portions of healthy food, pay close attention to calories in relation to sneaky serving sizes! So much variety out there!

Perhaps team up with a friend with the same goal, or maintaining a progress journal.

Keeping your mind engaged is a good way to avoid careless snacking throughout the day, balancing the conscious effort to avoid certain temptation triggers, while not completely depriving yourself.

[Obsessing over it will only end in failure/a complex/both]

Faster results: Cardiovascular kick boxing burns a TON of calories in comparison to other activities offered at gyms, I've discovered, but anything you do physically counts.

Good luck!

Don't follow the advice of misony, it is dangerous and just plain stupid. I do lots of sit ups, dance, and ride the bike. Done that for the past 4 weeks and have lost nearly 6kg! Here's hoping I can get down further before summer here in Oz!
