I know that God through the Holy Spirit does guide us, but the practice and experiences people are calling 'spirit guides' are likely deceiving evil spirits who convince the persons who call upon THEM rather than God that they are benevolent, but are actually demonic. Just remember that 'devil' means 'deceiver' and he uses truth and goodness as a hook for later misguidance. Calling upon anything other than God, including angels, is opening one's self to that which is not of God - the demonic. Angels are messengers from God and can legitimately visit us, but only extremely rarely to only an extreme few. Mainly their duty is to protect us in UNSEEN and UNKNOWN ways, dispatched from God. Satan regularly uses spiritual encounters and angelic aparitions to deceive us. The guidance of the Holy Spirit (God) may resemble what people receive from their 'spirit guides'. I don't know the difference, except that we must never dabble in any type of summoning of anything, including angels, for guidance. Only request your need in prayer to God, and know that he hears you.

Remember that there's a WORLD of difference between summoning a spirit for guidance and praying to God in Jesus' name for guidance. Hooking up with the wrong being of light can keep you from ever discovering the true Light - God.

The Mighty Meerkat whispers witty answers in my ear ...
jokes aside, I wouldn't share those names so easily. Some things are best left private. Just a word of friendly advice :)

I have a guide to mixing cocktails - which involves a variety of spirits.
Their names are many and varied, such as 'ScrewTheDriver', 'SaxOnTheBeach', 'BocksO'Rox' and so on and on.
Other than that, I do not believe in fairies.

Larry the millwright. He's my moral guide. Missing a thumb. His guidance is "if you aren't breaking the law you're ok by me".

Plus, he crafts beautiful doors for homes.
