I exercise in the morning and I have 3 weet bix when I get to work (weet bix are a grain cereal if you didn't know) but I am thinking about having a shake in the morning after I exercise but before I go to work to give me more energy and so I wont feel so hungry later in the day, my shake has 1cup low fat milk, 2 tablespoons of low fat yogurt and either some strawberry's or half a banana, should I have the shake or is it too much keeping in mind that my goal is to lose weight.

eat something before exercising!!! never do anything on empty stomach - it can lead to many health problems including diabetes (was mentioned also on TV show Workout).
breakfast is supposed to be the biggest meal of the day- you are not getting enough calories. have at least 300cal. Breakfast jumpstarts metabolism which at night was in a little calorie savings mode.

Supposedly you aren't supposed to eat 30 minutes before and after you excercise so that you're burning your fat instead of what you just ate. Your body also burns calories more efficiently at the start of the day before you've eaten anything but you shouldn't do too much or for too long or else you body might go into starvation mode. The first thing that you should do in the morning is drink water before you do anything else. I think you should alternate between the two breakfasts because the way I see it, eating meals is like doing excercising routines. If you do the same thing each day, you won't be benefitting as much after a while.

Wow, thanks for your explination of that word, bix. Anyway, the shake is good but you have to eat small portions throughout the day. They are saying to eat every three hours. What do they know? I keep gaining no matter how often or what I eat. Pregnant but no baby is me. Oh well, I'm the granny, gotta love me.

Maybe you aren't eating enough. But another ideal choice is to drink alot of green tea, it promotes fat burning.
