I was thinking of using it to label the inside and outside of my suitcases for when I travel. I was thinking if they get lost it would be easier to get back to me, but can someone use my DL # and steal my identity?

Using you DL# as a start a thief could generate enough information to falsify other info and use to buy anything at your expense.
Do not use any personal information in view of the public.

If you want to put info on you suit case, use your first initial of your first name and your last name. (Example. J. Smith) and then put a city and state and phone number (or email).

In the 'right' (ie wrong) hands, a DL# is just as good as a SS#....
