Do you actually have an interview to go to? Putting in an application doesn't guarantee an interview. Your current employer may be contacted by the hiring company, so be honest with your employer. Or at least be prepared to answer that question, without lying.
If you have earned vacation time, use that. Do not make up a "sick" excuse to go to a job interview. If the hiring company was to find out, your chances are slim.
good luck

That recently happened to me. You can still go to the interviews. You just have to tell them that currently you still have a job, but you are willing to give your two week notice asap. If they ask why you are quitting just tell them the truth. For instance if you are working at a fast food restaurant, just tell them your tired of working in the food business. Well I hope this helps you in some way, Good luck!

Ask the interviewer if you can be the first or last of the day. Then if first go to work late, if last ask to leave early.

Very discretely. Use sick time, dr appt. excuses or pto to attend interviews and make sure you don't answer calls on your cell within range of coworkers.
