If you email a friend, and they don't respond, does that mean they hate you?

They might be on vacation or they didn't pay their internet bill and they got shut off, many possiblities here.

Give your friend the benefit of the doubt.. it could be your friend hasn't been able to read your email (vacation, computer is down, or just busy.)

And even if they read it, it's possible that they couldn't respond to it right away after they read it.. and thought they'd respond the next day.. but more emails came.. and before you know it.. the snowball effect.. days have passed and they have now forgotten about responding.. but the point is.. it's all innocent.

Now, if you've sent them several emails, and you know for fact they've been read by that person, and they just haven't responded to you.. then there's still another possibility.. maybe they didn't clearly know they were suppose to respond. For example.. if you sent them a story.. maybe they assumed you only wanted them to read it, and weren't looking for an email back.

But I'd like to think that if someone hated you.. they would let you know that, in a better way than just not responding to your one email.

Let it go.. and if you asked questions in your last email.. then email them again, (nicely) and say hey.. let me know about.. and reask your questions.

Chances are they're probably just busy and got distracted.

Best to not jump to conclusions and just ask them.

I have known many friends to just not be email persons and I know how frustrating that is to wait for their reply or never get it, coz I am a big email person.

Best is to call them and talk to them on phone.

Yes, it is *possible* that they aren't close to you or have some other reason for not replying (maybe they dont know what to say or are upset with u over something) but all this depends on what both of ur relationship is like and what all has happened in the past with you both.

Dont stress. Just talk to them on phone. And if u get a vibe that they arent interested in being good friends, and u r the only one doing the calling or writing, then step back.

No. I am one of those people who is notorious for not returning phone calls/emails. I don't do it to be mean, but I just forget. Plus I really hate talking on the phone. Call them up and ask them what's going on, maybe they didn't receive the e-mail. Sometimes the spam blocker will send it to your bulk inbox. Or maybe they just have not had time to respond or have not even checked their e-mail. Don't despair, I'm sure they're not angry with you.

No. There could be several reasons why you have not gotten a response. There are people who lead busy lives and only check their mail periodically, computers crash, and people get sidetracked. If you feel that there might be a reason for them to hate you or have given them just cause, send a test mssg and find out. E-mail another mssg and ask straight up if there is a problem.

Of course not! Think about it this way: have you ever not responded to an e-mail before? I'm almost completely sure you have, and I'm also pretty sure you didn't do it because you hated the sender.

I am horrible at answering back emails, texts, voice mails, etc. I always say I will answer back in a little bit and never do. My friends now how I am in regards to answering back and do not get offended. They often leave me a message saying "when you get this message" since I don't check my messages often either. We usually end up playing phone tag anyways.

well no! maybe theyre busy or something! just b/c they dont respond asap dont mean they hate you. try asking if you done something to offend (affend? spell check) them or something. and they should tell you. are you ? just ask. but dont keep on only ask once and dont keep bothering them or u will come off as needy and too clingy! if they dont write back or let you know then dont assume you should beat them uo just keep ur distance and if they want they'll come around but if not then its their loss they wasnt a good friend ne way! and you dont deserve a crappy friend

why would they? maybe they dont have computer or internet anymore. maybe on vaK, they might be sleeping. but why would they hate you? its a matter of fact, did u do anything wrong? that might give your question an answer,. visit your friend or call. why would they hate you?

1. using another email ad
2. their email ad has expired
3. on vacation
4. you were accidentally spammed

How long has it been since you e-mailed them. Maybe they're just really busy and haven't had time to sit down and write an e-mail. Maybe you could send another e-mail that said, "hey I haven't heard from you in awhile, everything o.k.?"
