Yeah that's common actually. I love my friends but I'm not in love with them same goes for family and whatever else.

Had it said to me. I think my ex-husband meant he loved me like a sister and didn't want to have sex with me anymore. I found it rather insulting at the time. However, a few years later I had a male friend that wanted to make a whole lot more out of our friendship than I did. He was a great person, I was just not attracted to him. I told him that I loved all my friends (which is true - I don't have enough of them not to cherish each one), but that didn't mean I wanted to sleep with them. Okay, it was insulting that time too. Sometimes the truth is like that.

Humm. by using the form you communicate approximately him you look at a loss for words, in spite of the reality that thats probally the rationalization why you asked this question in the 1st place. If I have been you, i might think of approximately all the excuses why you think of you adore him, after which settle on in case you unquestionably do or no longer. think of of him as a guy or woman, how he acts, what he says. If there are some issues you like approximately him, or dislike approximately him, then those issues would desire to help to sway your decision. yet i can't inform you in case you adore this guy, in elementary terms you may. stable good fortune!

I have never said that to someone. I think what it may actually mean is "I have empathy for you but I do not love you".

It means..... I can understand you are hurt and I realize it is painful, and I know I am the cause, so I'm trying to do the right thing and make you feel better about my ending the relationship...............but of course it doesn't make anyone feel any better.

For some people saying " I love you" is easy I would not unless I really mean it. I used the worsd to easy with my parenst and sibling but not with other people because I really mean it.

This could mean " I love you in a way that the person care enough for you but not " in love with you yet." Or you care enough for the person but " you are not in love yet". Usually happens when you are involve in a serious relation and I think the moment one is pushing about the marriage issue then you might be able to hear I love you but I am not ready( not in love) with you yet to be able to take it to the next step. LOL

Yes it makes sense. It means, I care about you as a person or a friend, but I do not want to be romantically involved with you as a boyfriend/girlfriend.

i think this line is normally said when people have been in a relationship too long...it translates into: i love you but we've been together far too long and the excitement and novelty of our relationship has worn off...love has 3 stages:
1. when the relationship is new and you are in-love
2. you love the person
3. you've been together for a long time...passion has diminished but your relationship is more stable...

had it said to me and you know what happened next? it ended.

it makes sense but its better just to say I don't love you, instead of taking the nice cop out.

Yes, said it, and have had it said to me. For instance, my old best friend from several years back, we said that 'i love you but not in love with you' thing, and we were close close. We got along great, and were inseperable for years. Now looking back on it, we should have dated.

I'm gonna have to find her number.

Sure. You can have love for someone but being in love with them is different. It is mor emotional and you will probably do crazier things for that person.
