She is doing exactly what it sounds like, except it's probably not mucus. It could be a weed, a piece of grass, some tiny particle of something she was sniffing. If she does it enough that you think whatever is in there is stuck, you should take her to the vet. We had a pointer who got a prickly weed stuck up her nose and it was rubbing the back of her throat raw. We have a terrier who makes that noise often but not for a very long each episode. She has never needed a vet for it, and gets whatever it it out without issue.

My boxers make really wierd ,almost gutteral noises. They come from somewhere within. But they are fine. Animals have their own way of communicating! It's a beautiful thing.

Perhaps maybe she ate or inhaled something that is irritating her. She could be trying to expel it.
If you have Fox tail weeds in your area, you should probably take her into the veterinarian to get looked at because those are harmful.

Asthma, perhaps? Dogs get asthma too, you know. I'm not saying that's definitely what it is, but you should take your dog to the vet just to be sure.

Your dog might be sick. I think there's no harm in taking her to the vet to get it checked out.
