Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

What I sometimes tell folks at work..Joshua, 'as for me and my household, we shall serve the Lord.
One thing I did notice in the movie Saving Private Ryan, was the marksman, who quoted the bible, and kissed the cross hanging from his neck, before he did his duty as a soilder.
This shows that even in the darkness of life, the struggles we endure, the testing we go thru, and the hardship we deal with, Jesus never leaves us....
Even though I go thru the shadow of death, he will never leave me..thy rod and staff they comfort me.
And another favorite..told to Moses..as Moses asking what shall I say to the people of who you are..and God says..I am that I am, has sent you!
Or, Be still and KNOW that I AM God.
Bless your reading

I always found Romans and Revolations interesting. I've never found them interesting enough to memorize though.
I know a lot of Christians who memorize Psalms 23 or 24 or something, the one that has the vally of the shadow of death in it. I cant remember which Psalm i liked, it was about throwing up and stuff. Its been years sence I've looked at a bible.
I did memorize Pi to about 300 digits and quite a lot of Edgar Allan Poe's works, as well as a few prominant roles in some of Shakespear's plays.

That is a good one..... Actually many people do not think of that one when they think of the teachings of Christ. They think of Him only as a sort of "hippie" who is only preaching peace on earth. The fact is that He actually had some hard teachings that many would find difficult to accept.
Everyone has their "favorite" part of the Bible I suppose... I especially like Romans, chapter 8 myself. A very good description of Christian theology, it begins by saying that we are no longer held in condemnation for what we once were in sin, having been freed from sin and death, and ends by telling us that as believers in Christ, nothing or no one will ever be able to separate us from the love of Christ Jesus.
Another one I like is Proverbs 3:5-7 :
5Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
6In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
7Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.

I personally like, James 1:16-18
"Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created."

Ezekiel 23:1-21, hands down. God tells Ezekiel about two whores that he plans on smiting. Interesting factoid: according to this verse, Egyptian men have enormous wieners.
My second fav? 1 Samuel 18. David wants to marry Saul's daughter, and Saul commands him to kill one hundred Philistine men, circumcise them, and bring back their foreskins. David, being the awesome guy that he is, murders TWO hundred Philistines and uses their foreskins to buy Saul's virgin daughter. Classic.

full armor of god
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[fn3] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Eph 6:13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Eph 6:15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
Eph 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--
god bless ya!

Romans 8
31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
