In my understanding religious people seem to have control over almost every country, and cause a lot of unnecessary problems and even mass deaths. Do you think non-religious people will ever take their power away from them?

I agree with all of you.

I add: I think religion seriously needs to be put back in its place.
Children being exposed to the violence and perversion of the Bible, Qu'ran etc may be a better starting point.

non-religious people wouldn't like a war, they would try to prevent that. I would anyway.

hmmmmm. ok, here it is: pagans/athiests/witches/ are the most persecuted ppl of all time.no pagan/witch or athiest ever started a war. and it has mostly been religious in nature. More wars have been started because and in the name of religion than any other war. The civil war as an example. the christian bible says that no man owns another man, someone took exception to that and BAM! A war was started. I could go on and on. But the truth is, religion, or lack there of, can start a war or is usually the center of it.

on the same time as we maintain the 'God-given' option to do undesirable issues, Wars would be waged by applying all factions whoever they are with non secular Hierarchies no exception. Self-denial is a social gathering piece of the Pious so don't be surprised at what they deny. they're going to say 'it is god's will' which covers a great form of sins. GREED regulations our lives because of the fact that Adam and Eve we've retained this function and has instigated ALL sin on earth. E.Wilcock (86)

No, they'll kill each other like they've always been doing since beginning of civilization.
The smart thing to do is to build a Fallout shelter if that ever happens.

If it ever happens, religious people will be the aggressors, and non-religious people will be defending themselves.

I think that's a slim possibility in theocratic states, but not anywhere else.
