Like any group It only takes a few bad ones to bring hatred to all. The only cure is transparency, and justice for all.
I have seen them know enough to arrest and prosecute criminals and do nothing, and I have also seen them arrest and prosecute the innocent because their ego was bruised.
Like all other persons the society grants the use of power, there must be an equivalent holding accountable. Unfortunately the Gang Of Pirates have put the RWA and SDO pathologies on steroids to give themselves more power, and like other steroids that power is an illusion that destroys all in the end.
By using Cult techniques of training and operations, and removing accountability, you could turn Nuns into monsters, much less young men chosen for aggression and lack of empathy, and then making it more so.

I have never seen the pictures and do not really care one way or the other what these people were doing at the time. If they were given the order to disperse, to vacate an area of public or private property and were effectively removed by anything less than deadly force more power to the boys in blue. I remember the civil rights marches and anti war protests in the sixties when not moving when told to would have been met with a fire hose, or a police baton, rubber bullets, and if that failed the real thing. The effects from that were a damn site more permanent as five who were not even involved in the protests at Kent State could testify, if they were still alive. What did these fools expect? The cops were coming out to bring them afternoon tea? If you disrupt the peace and don't leave when ordered to do so, then don't cry when you get your *** kicked. Or if you do, do it quietly as I don't want to hear it! And as for who does or doesn't like the police and the use of force it is dependent upon who is giving the orders and not the final body count, each side seems more forgiving of bloodshed and violence which furthers it's own cause. Surprise!!! Surprise!!!

People are funny. They make faces when a cop drives by and they are sitting in the front yard, yet they want to know why there are no police when something happens to there property. Cops are never in the right place at the right time is a major problem , but that's what 911 is for. Call them they will come. If you know bad things are happening in your neighborhood and you keep it to yourself how can you be surprised officers were unaware of the situation? Cops are people too. They deserve respect. They protect you, your family, your children. How can you hate someone who's job is to protect you? I feel bad for anyone who has had bad experiences with cops but they(bad cops)are only a hand full. If you have a bad experience, report it! and if that does not work, find someone else to report it. Even the bosses have bosses in law enforcement

Same way, I see on tv. Their are a couple good cops out their. Like Inspector Harry Callahaun, John McClane, Mike Lowrey, Axel Foley, Ryan O'Malley, Justin Miller, Axel Foley, Robocop, Jake Peralta, Lee Butters, Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh and Marion Cobretti aka Cobra in the movies, I wish they were more like these guys. Especially in the Police Academy Movies with Lasard's team of misfits who care about the people. That is why I would trust these guys, they care about the people. They would take a bullet for a little guy like me. In the DC comics, I wish their was a cop like James Gordon who is a police commissioner in Gotham City, who let a guy like Batman help us out. One reason why people hate cops, all they care about is law and order and one reason why they are well hated. These guys I describe care about the people, they do whatever it takes to protect the innocent.

Because they're hippocrates! They believe there are the people in blue and everyone else! They accept two differing standards! When in truth they should be held to a higher standard just to insure there is parity! They're arrogant, power hungry, and ignorant as well! Have you ever watched them use multiple police vehicles just to follow one car. If they were competent then one officer in one car should be sufficient to do the job! They act like pack animals and pounce on a person. They have to be restrained because they get the blood lust and revert to instinctual behavior! They believe in a herd mentality! Ask them what they would do in a given situation and they will always say they will call for backup! They can't imagine dealing with it by themselves. If they were to lose their weapons they would flee, because they would be totally incapacitated and unable to think without them! I hope that answers your question!

The ones that end up being hated are the ones who have a serious flaw. They can't hear. Well, they can hear, but they can't listen. They get so blinded by what is usually happening that they refuse to listen to each case/call as a new person's life. Then, they have enormous power to wreck homes and lives. They themselves don't respect that power.

In my city they are a joke. So far this year they have managed to kill 2 mentally disabled people by tazer and hog tie. They frequently use prostitutes without paying for them (they used to have a spot near my friends house where we would watch them.) And when the student nurses went to the park downtown to check on the homeless a police officer told them to leave because he had to kick them all out, and refused to give his badge number as well and threatened the nurses with jail if they didn't leave as well. Then there was the off duty police officer who shot a guy in the head for no real reason. I could go on and on.
I'd probally have more respect for them if they didn't treat everyone like crap and had a moral compass.

I grew up with a racist police force in Cincinnati, Ohio and my parents were very upset at the whole force and the city that allowed it. So it's like everything else my parents taught me. But I have seen some not corrupt, nice police since I moved to California. My family is lily white, I wasn't the target of the police but I saw some bad stuff.

I lose my respect for them when I hear stuff like Sheriff Corona, (in case you don't know him, he the chief of orange county's sheriff's dept, here in California). He up on federal corruption charges of using his office for financial gains..
A one-time close friend of Carona, former Assistant Sheriff George Jaramillo, already has pleaded guilty in the case, his attorney confirmed Monday. In the plea, Jaramillo admitted that he had collected cash and gifts worth about $45,000 and had filed false income tax returns concealing the income.

Because it's easier to blame me for catching you breaking the law then to accept responsibility for your actions and learn from the experience. People would rather deflect the guilt from themselves by accusing me of being racist, corrupt, brutal, overbearing, etc.
I have been in law enforcement for a very long time now and know Police Officers in many states. Most of us are excellent men and women who do our job to the best of our ability. The few bad ones that make the media overshadow us and provide the criminal element and their sympathizers with fodder so they can point their fingers and claim the act of one is proof that all of us are bad.
Most of us our good and I believe most people do appreciate us. We are not hated and feared by many. Just a few who have a reason for disliking us (no matter how self centered it may be).
