My church went through "changes" and it affected the youth of my church. The kids have reached to the point where they wished to go somewhere else and others just stop attending church. I want to guide all of them spiritually back to God's presence but i dont know how, cuase the kids are less indterested and less dedicated and i wish not to give up on them...so what would you do? what should /could i do? (besides just praying).

Roseange, sounds like you and the kids at your church are going through some spiritual growth and some challenges.

The best way to guide anyone spiritually is by example. It may be that they will attend a different church for a while or even change membership, but that may also be a positive thing in their lives. The people who have inspired me the most have always been those who conduct their lives in a very honest way with high integrity and high standards.

The teachers/mentors I've learned from the most do not force or push their ideals on anyone else; but they do follow their own higher self in everyday life and they are very supportive of others in need.

Praying always works and I pray for God's will to be done since I do not know everything and what I think is the best for someone else may or may not be what is best for them. And I believe God/our higher power always knows what will help us (and others) grow and learn the most in the next phase of our lives.

Only the truth will do --- and there is little truth in religion and churches, etc.
I really do think young people ought to get involved with sport - as this can teach them many things that religion fails on.
Co-operativeness, learning from science/physics/etc - teaching them skills, etc etc.

Spirituality is really an inward and a very personal journey -
I really don't think it works for the masses.

Talk to the leaders and other young people there who care.
Having a good worship team with ''professional'' music helps quite a bit actually. But what really brings everyone back to the glory of God is three or so short days in the wild, in a cabin.. Days of prayer, worship, and talks about the freedom that is in Jesus Christ, with food of course...
You know what I'm talking about, "Encounters!!!!''
I call that to be the secret for the fire of God, where people can completely focus all of their attention on the Lord.

Organize round table readings of Scripture.Let each kid be a biblical character and study a given book.Pick a theme you want to study before you get kids together so you know what you are doing once there.Plan a play of a given O.T. story and work on it for a month before the performance.Lotsa things you can do that are Spiritually uplifting without caving into the godless entertainment-based movement[pop music and dances and whatnot].

Talk to your Church leaders and find out why these "changes" occurred and see if there is anyway to resolve the problems they caused. Start a youth group and have it the way the Church was before these "changes." Or, find a new Church. It doesn't matter where they worship as long as they are, right?

I assume by saying the youth can go somewhere else that they are at least teens. Be HONEST. Explain the changes if you can ,and honestly tell them if you cant. Everyone respects honesty, and todays youth are smarter today than we were at their age. Ask their opinions, why they feel that way and respect their right to feel that way. It may be Gods will that they move forward ,He does work in mysterious ways!

Start a small study group with them.
Let every person have a turn picking a topic.
You could have it at the church, your house, or maybe a library.

Youth want to be doing something, not just stting around like older people.
Find events, games, get togethers, Bible study with some "fun" to it.
You need things to hold their interest, and keep them together, either inside, or outside the Church.

well don't for get that we as men like to change the words of god. we are liars, theft and corrupted. you get my point right. we should not just trust what men tell you to believe in. you should tell them god is with us man and woman who we need to united with the lord and we need to stick together but not by the church. But in what juses christ tought us to do when we need help. we need to biult a church as our faith grows bit by bit and try to understand who or what is god. we gain knowledge by reading the bible and know that jesus tought his people from isreal.

I admire your passion. Have you thought of being a youth leader? Talk to your pastor.
