...because of uncompetitive average education levels? Particularly science-related degrees?

Advisers 20 years ago were warning us that the economic success of any modern nation will depend on an ever-growing percentage of science, math, engineering and technological diplomas at the Bachelors level, at least.

In the eighties, it's all we ever heard concerning the economy. It was about how far our public schools were behind other nations, what percentage of our grads were getting BS Science/Eng to MS or PhD. Science/Eng.

In the early nineties, the LAST television factory in the United States closed.

Fast-forward to 2007 and we're suddenly in a position to adopt the 3rd world?

This hypothetical union would be very efficient, regardless of the shown fact that it won't take place any time quickly. each and all of the international locations are not getting alongside, Taiwan continues to be technically at conflict with China because of the fact a peace deal replaced into in no way signed after the civil conflict in th 40s and South and North Korea have very strained family members and Japan and China have had undesirable family members for hundreds of years.

I think all the free trade agreements (NAFTA, etc) do hurt us in some ways, but they arent the only reason for our economic decline. anyone who says our public schools are behind everyone else is right, i hope. I go to a public school, and some of the people there...make me want to move to australia - at least noone wants to nuke australia.

Who said we're losing the economic war? If we are it's because of the unfair and lopsided trade agreement with China. China has got to be the sneakiest country on earth!
