Advisers 20 years ago were warning us that the economic success of any modern nation will depend on an ever-growing percentage of science, math, engineering and technological diplomas at the Bachelors level, at least.
In the eighties, it's all we ever heard concerning the economy. It was about how far our public schools were behind other nations, what percentage of our grads were getting BS Science/Eng to MS or PhD. Science/Eng.
In the early nineties, the LAST television factory in the United States closed.
Fast-forward to 2007 and we're suddenly in a position to adopt the 3rd world?
