Salam

To you it sounds ridiculous. To us its a mercy and blessing.

Prayer was established in heaven when the Lord asked all the creations to kneel before him when he made Adam A.s. so you see, its not just Muslims. Jesus used to pray, Moses too and all other prophets used to do the same.

The problem is that every time a messenger came they refuted him and so the increased order was made every time.
It used to be 50, you don't even do 1 so how could you even do 5 if you where asked. It was prescribed before Islam and so was fasting. That's your choice of course.

Those who are guided remain in the guidance and those whom allowed themselves to be led astray well, they are lost and astray and never guided by anything on the face of this earth.

Simple enough for you, or still ridiculous?
edit: Timbers and Yoda are obviously foolish mortals that have nothing better to do than to deface everything that ever was good. Just read anything they ever put, its always in the most of ingorant fashion.

The daily prayers over five times is the most significant among the individual obligations in Islam. Once Prophet Muhammed was asked by a follower:

"Which Good Deed is the most loved by ALLAH?"

"It is the Prayer"

"What is Next?"

"It is doing good to your parents"

"And next?"

"It is striving in the path of God".

Note that Prophet Muhammed counted the prayers, which has apparantly only the significance of a ritual, as the greatest virtue even over other good deeds which directly benefit others. This may seem strange, and it is also true that the obligations like daily five times prayers, fasting and Zakat will not aid easy conversions to Islam either. But we must understand the influence the prayer make on the Muslim society. The extra religiosity of Muslims compared to other communities owes primarily to the daily prayers, and hence ideologically Muslims always tend to be bonded to Islam and remain under the over-whelming influence of Prophet Muhammed. Just for once example, we can see that the number of atheists and communists are the least among the Muslims, and none of the Muslim countries ever went ideologically communist. This is despite the absence of any particular hierarchy like that of church that christians have, or the role of any intelligentsia.

Assalamu alaikum surely alhamdulillah you at the instant are not a undesirable muslimah because of the fact (a million)you frequently placed on hijab once you're going out (2)you are trying demanding your maximum suitable tpo pray 5 cases an afternoon and (3)you're conscious which you probably did not pobey to the command of Allah for praying 5 cases an afternoon..yet i don't comprehend why you neglected approximately one or 2 prayers an afternoon.you're able to do it merely purely for 3 minutes of each prayer and you have clean concepts after praying. you at the instant are not kufr lady because of the fact you nevertheless have faith in the oneness of Allah and you nevertheless worship Allah.the sole actuality you do not carry out all your mandatory prayers on time astounding.Laziness is brought about by utilising syaitans.you may desire to have reliable eeman that the command of Allah is the main intense interest which will desire to be executed because of the fact the 1st priority.you may desire to strengrhen your eeman via reciting the Qur'an,dzikir and duas. you may desire to ask for Allah's forgiveness in a taubatan nasuha prayer at night in the previous dozing.

It is NOT ridiculous. We pray 5 times to remember God throughout the day. Sometimes we choose to pray more than 5 times. There is nothing ridiculous about stopping what we are doing for a few minutes and worshipping the Creator.

u dont have to, u choose to. but then of course you have to pay the consequences of your choice.

the reason Allah made mankind is to serve him, to look at its creation and praise him.

lemme give you an example:
suppose u'v hired a driver and his duty is from 9am to 9pm. but out of this 12 hour time, he does what he pleases or goes away without informing you even for an hour or so, wudnt u get angry?
of courseu wud!

but Allah has given u life, 24 hrs in a day and out of those 24 hrs u cant even serve him 5 times a day. then wudn't he get angry?

but if u pray or ask for 4giveness he forgives for he is ever merciful, sumthing a human can never be.

I don't HAVE to. I CHOOSE to.

No, it's not ridiculous. God has done everything for us, He's given us a life; He's given us everything. He loves and cares about us all even if we've done wrong. Why wouldn't I want to pray 5 times a day to thank Him and ask Him for guidance. I love it and have nothing against it.

Peace.

In part, the tend to believe that this is what God wants. If they are faithful to pray, then they MIGHT get God to show favor on them. It is all about works of the flesh in hopes of pleasing God. The problem is, only faith honors God, not works of the flesh done to earn any kind of recognition from God. It is one more point of legalism, and tradition that Jesus spoke against to begin with. They are wasting their time, but they would disagree since they don't know better.

Because it's a religion of law & punishments. Do everything legalistically. There is no love, no grace, no forgiveness, women are treated worse than dogs, it is full of fear.

God is not like that. He loves & forgives.
Although people seem to find it too difficult to follow His ways.

According to the Hadiths, they prayed 40 (or 50 according to another Hadith) times per day, until Mohammad flew up to heaven on the back of a winged donky-like creature.

Along the way, Mohammad passed through each "level" of heaven, which was guarded by one of many Biblical prophets. He said Adam guards the "nearest" heaven, and Abraham guards the 6th heaven.

While Mohammad was up in heaven, Moses told Mohammad to haggle with Allah several times, until the number was reduced to 5.

As far as why the punishments are so severe, I guess it's because Allah wants people to be whipped and tortured if they don't do what Allah told Gabriel to tell Mohammad to tell his followers to do.
