Let say there was a pursuit chase, and during that pursuit chase, two police agency are in on it, for example LAPD and Santa ana police department are pursuing the suspect. So the suspect surrenders and they handcuffed him, and do the agencies fight over who gets the guy, or do they rock paper scissor. Just curious. LOL

The suspect will be taken to the jail for the jurisdiction that he was arrested in. Fleeing is a state charge, so it won't really matter what county he is in. If he is charged in one county, the other counties will most likely allow them to proceed with the charges.

If he crosses state lines, he can be charged in both states, but the state that takes him into coustody will be the one responsible for arresting him. The other state would issue a warrant for his arrest.

They certainly can fight over it ... if either is willing to forfeit taking the suspect into custody then there is no problem. Usually speaking, where ever the pursuit originated is where the suspect will be taken (provided the distance is not 'unreasonable,' and affect the suspect's due process ... the officers have to go back to where they came from anyways.), however, this doesn't always have to be the case. We're dealing with a lot of hypotheticals here, but if two departments are involved then they both have a right to file charges against the suspect for offenses that were committed in their jurisdiction. It is up to the courts to decide which jurisdiction will prosecute him/her first ... in this case the person could potentially face criminal charges in both Los Angeles and Santa Ana.

The one whose jurisdiction they are in will take them! Though if they are in the same county it really doesnt matter since the jail is the same. If it is out of state, then they go to the jail in the state where they are stopped and must go through extradition hearings

Who ever had the charges or probable cause to initiate the pursuit would have the charges

WHERE THE PURSUIT STARTED IS A JURISDICTION. IF IT CROSSES INTO ANOTHER JURISDICTION THEN THAT COURT OF ARREST IS WHERE THE TICKET WILL TAKE PLACE FOR THE ARRESTING AGENCY AND TERRITORY.
