Do they think it makes thier movie better, when it offends alot of people, to cuss is one thing, to put Gods name in front of it is another, and no people getting on here making stupid comments is not funny, remember God hears all.

People that don't see this as wrong, is worse, because these are the very same people that will get the final shock of thier lives, if we let everything go, then of coarse thier will be not moral values.

If you don't like it, you have the choice not to go see the movie. It isn't against the beliefs of non-Christians. Ironically, ALL of the people I know in person who say that frequently are devout Christians.
Incidentally, that Commandment does NOT mean 'don't curse'. It originally meant NOT to "swear to God" when making a promise that might be broken, or to use it as an affirmation unrelated to God himself, or when it was not heartfelt.
For example, the "under God" phrase in the Pledge of Allegiance is a violation of the Commandment, since millions of non-Christians, for whom God has NO meaning or value whatsoever, recite it as routine, and without any reverence. The MINISTER who originally wrote the Pledge was very adamant that God NOT be included for that very reason, and when it was unconstitutionally added years later, his family said he'd be rolling in his grave at the thought that millions would be required to use God's name in vain on a daily basis. He thought (as the Commandment intended) that 'God' was too precious to be thrown around by every American without meaning, and that his name should be reserved and used for only very special circumstances involving believers. Evidently, modern Christians don't agree.

Most people are not offended by it.
They also include other things that might offend some fringe zealots. They just try to make movies for normal, mainstream society. That's who they make money off of.
And why is it worse than using "God Bless America" in advertising? How often is that a slogan that just means "Buy from here because I'm a Christian"?
If you're going to invoke commandments about that, by god you better be consistent with it.

You apparetnly assume that the word God is the name of a god. There are many names for the judeo-christian god; i.e. Elohim, Jehovah (or yahweh), Adonijah, El Elyan, etc. While using the phrase goddam may be poor english, it isn't using the name of any god in vain. Further, the ten commandments aren't the first law and were simply copies of laws prior to the moutain expereince myth of Moses.

2 questions in response.
1, Which version of the 10 commandments. God gave Moses 2 different sets. I think we should use the second set since they clearlt supercede the first, and no mention of using is name in vain is included.
2, I have never heard the word G.D. in a movie. (Yes I know it's not a question)

apparently the commandments are not being enforced. You know what children do when there are no consequences...:D
Look, you don't have to like it, but you do have the ability to turn the power off or change the channel. I am sorry that not everyone in this world has the same moral fabric as you, but face it, it will not go back. Mostly because America's innocence was lost when Kennedy was assasinated and when rich Gambinos decided they were going to run anti drug guys out of the "neighborhoods" and seel cocaine to their ~subjects~ therefore ruining the nation in the 50's and 60's.
If only there were more martyr's like yourself who actually cared 60 years ago. We wouldn't be having this conversation.

What movie? and you just hav eto realize that the commandments are for people who believe in the bible-if th edirectors and writers don't care-We can't force them to take it seriously-And why should they?
If I had a belief that animals have souls and are just being murdered right now and eaten-and it's against Gods laws-should that mean ppl should stop eating meat in the movies??

That is an easy answer. The continued erosion of our society has created an environment where everything is acceptable and possible because everyone seems to subscribe to the belief that "Your truth is your truth and my truth is my truth." The reason Christian tenants are unacceptable is because they require the individual to invest in Faith in Christ which goes against their natural instinct to rely on and glorify themselves. Furthermore, adhering to the Commandments requires continual Faith and prayer which again goes against one's natural inclination towards self. Therefore, because so many people subscribe to the idea of "Self Evolved Truth," it is not surprising that movies would contain dialog where the Lord's name is taken in vain.

Cussing is not what is meant by that commandment. What is meant, is that you should not make frivolous vows using the name YHWH. In ancient Jewish times, you were obligated to follow through on any vow made in the name of YHWH, even if it included murder (see the story of Jephthah and his daughter for an example of that).

The word God has morphed into something that isn't only a name. Just like F-ing has replaced "really". Wow, that was F-ing great! So they arn't using his name in vain.

Their comment on "using Gods name in vain" is quite appropriate. Enjoy!

I think it could be that they are not afraid of using those two words together because the "who?" god is not mentioned. For now there are many God's.
