zardoz, in most cases a ham that has been cured either by salt or sugar and dryed. back in the old days 1700 and may be futher back when there was not any refrigation, people use to rub hams mostly with salt really heavy big time salt just literly cover them then hang the up to dry in their raw stageand they would not spoil because of high salt content. like when lewis and clark made their journey across america they had to carry some of there food and with this process the meat would not spoil. people also used this pratice to get though the winter when the were no game to kill for food. i live in virginia and they still cure hams this way and it is cosidered a delicisic during the hoiidays. the hams some times age 6 to 9 months, before you can eat them they have to soak over night to try to get rid of some of their saltyness, then they are baked and glazed. to some one who might not have eaten some before they will still taste super salty. but on some good rye bread with grain mustard and lettice it is great. if you ever come this way try some, good luck and good eating.bacondebaker

extreme fear of pineapples and cherries and bridges for some reason...the thearapy continues with sessions consisting of:

Oven desensitization at about 375 to 425 degrees
Acupuncture
Honey massages with bamboo brush
Sea Salt intake
Soothing Hypnosis.
Regression into past lives.

If this dosent cure it then I guess its time to have group sessions with the turkeys...

An awful headache.

A 20 GA. slug between the eyes will make you long for a migraine. At least that's what my grandpa said.
