I've had guys do this to me plenty of times...
If it's something like "No you don't look fat in that dress" or "You look so beautiful" (AKA not to hurt their feelings)- then it's fine.
Otherwise though, lying about the stupid things ("Yeah I went to college" - when you really didn't) may come back to haunt you.

No. If you're always lying to someone, then how will they know when you're telling the truth? Honesty is always the way to go. At least then you can tell them, "Well I always told you the truth".
I can't stand it when they're not honest with me.

i guess sometimes its alright and everyone does, and believe me we always know u r liying, like when ur late and we ask "where were u?" and u say "too much traffic today" but actually u were on the net and dint leave earlier! i guess that's alright coz ur not cousing any harm but if ur cheating or anything then .......bad very bad...

Lying is NEVER good.....always tell the truth...why should you lie about small things? Your gf deserves much better

I seldom lie. But sometimes when you speak the truth, they still think you are lying.
So if you really want them to believe what the truth is, just lie, so that they think you are lying and believe what is the opposite i.e. the truth!
The ultimate goal should be communicating the truth!
