THAT BEING SAID.. THEY SAY PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULDN'T GO ON A DIET, BUT TO EAT HEALTHY IF THEY DIDN'T BEFORE? SO THAT CONFUSES ME.

The way I see it, a "diet" in the sense you mean is a temporary decision. When you're on a diet, you have set "rules" and stuff for your eating. Making a decision eat healthier on the otherhad, is more of a permanent lifestyle change.

I'm naturally thin, but I try to maintain a healthy diet (diet = eating habits), but I never "go on" diets. I think the crash diet mentality is unhealthy. Why deprive yourself completely of the foods you enjoy? Then if "cheat" on your diet and eat some delicious dessert or something, you've got the guilt to worry about. If you just eat as healthy as you can most of the time, there's no reason not to indulge every now and again. Plus, I know a lot of girls who suffer from the "diet starts tomorrow!" syndrome where they pig out, then never start their "diet," or if they do start it, it lasts only two days.

I don't think it is healthy. Slow and steady wins the race. If you loose a bunch of weight in a short amount of time, you are more likely to gain it all back. But if you do it slowly you will loose it and keep it off. As for the incentives I know that it is easier that you two are doing it together as opposed to seperately. So that is a plus! But other incentives and motivations might be to have a contest. Whoever looses more doesn't have to do household chores for a week or something. I'm sure you can come up with a better reward than that! Or you can allow one splurge a week (within proportion of course). The diet that has worked for my friends is the eat 6 times a day diet. I'm sure you've heard of it, but you eat six small meals instead of 3 large ones. It all has to do with proportions. Or the South beach diet...or the diet that you eat a combination of odd foods to kick start your metabolism. It's a chemical diet. If you need any more help contact me. :)

A diet is something people use to try and lose weight. It infers that once you reach a certain magic number you can then go "off" the diet and resume your old eating habits and "magically" the weight won't won't come back. Adopting a healthy lifestyle of eating properly and daily exercise is a habit that one can develop to the point where it becomes as natural as brushing your teeth or taking a shower. Losing weight is just a wonderful side effect of a healthy lifestyle. Most of us already know what's healthy and what's not so healthy so we make our choices on a daily basis. That's the difference between "dieting" and choosing a healthy lifestyle. One you do in a attempt to lose weight...the other you do for the health of your entire body and life, now and into the future...good luck

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. A diet is what you are eating. Most people do think of a diet as a change in their eating to lose weight. But your diet is what you are eating. So a health diet is just that a healthy way to eat.
Fruits and veggies, lots of water, no or limited meat, no dairy, no processed foods, no fast foods, nothing white. nothing fried. That is a good healthy diet. Fruits and veggies are so good for you they could save your life.

Anything you eat is your diet, so there isn't any difference.
