you cannot go wrong with anywhere on the west coast, counties Donegal, Sligo, mayo, Galway, Clare or Kerry are all quiet places and relaxing and peaceful

my advice would be to base your in galway city and then travel outward from there.

The touristy places are the busiest during the summer, positively heaving with people from all over the world. They are not the places to go for peace and quiet, unfortunately.

However, if you go slightly off the beaten track and stay within a few miles of these places, you will find what it is you're looking for. Best of both worlds!

Kinsale isn't relaxing nor peaceful - it's full of tourists and Irish yuppies and yauchties!

Try somewhere like the Burren, Ballyvaughan or up around the Inishowen peninsula...

Try travelling around the ring of Kerry or Kinsale is a great place to stay. Don't bother to much with the city's.
The small villages are the best .

You should go to Donegal or somewhere in the west of Ireland where it is very rural!
