program name is handbrake - FREE DOWNLOAD - to find it just google it -
handbrake was mac only program but now is available for all 3 major operating systems (windows, mac and linux) - by-passes ANY dvd copy-protection - downloads dvd as file to yr computer and enables you to export downloaded file in many different formats including ipod and dvd
BY THE WAY THAT GUY ON THE TOP IS REAL MORON - YOU ARE ALLOWED TO MAKE BACKUP OF YR LEGIT BOUGHT DVD - IT IS CALLED FAIR SHARE RULE AND IS COMPLETELY LEGAL

what kinid of DVD's? if your talking like movies, they have a copyright protection on them and only certain programs will do it. you would haver to pay for one. i dont know what you are trying to do but it is illegal to make another disc of it but it is not illegal to make up a back up copy on the harddrive. vista wont do it for you. CloneCD is prolly your best bet.
