Yes! Without any doubt what-so-ever, a zero carb diet will harm you. You must have some carbs to survive. Limiting carbs may have the effect of helping to lose weight, but not all experts agree on the safety of this method. Low carb diets can work, but you need to be careful to get nutrients that are usually in high carb fruits and veggies. You should discuss any major change in your diet with your doctor. You can really put your body out of whack if you are reckless.

Cutting out ALL carbs is NOT good for you, contrary to the trendy diets out there.
Carbohydrates are where the body gets energy from.
Cutting down most of your FAT intake is a good idea. The omega-3 fatty acids you get from things like fish are good for you, but most animal fats and the veggie fats from things like avocados and peanuts are to be taken sparingly.
Basically you want a BALANCED diet overall, but if you are trying to lose body fat, then avoid most fats, especially saturated and hydrogenized (trans) fats. Poly-unsaturated fats are good for you, but again be sparing with these.
You get carbohydrates from a lot of places, just make sure you are getting complex carohydrates instead of simple carbs. Eat a sweet potato instead of a twinkie. Eat whole grains like brown rice and 100% whole grain wheat or rye bread instead of minute rice and wonder bread.

If you are eating fruits and vegetables, you are getting carbs. What you want to avoid are simple carbs such as those found in bread and pasta. You want to eat the carbs that are in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. I think you can be just fine doint this.

your body doesn't NEED carbs to survive, so probably not. i think there may be cultures (inuit??) that survive on meat for most of the year for lack of anything else to eat.
that said, it'd be a pretty bleak and bland diet if you avoided them totally.
even the strictest portion of atkins at 20gms a day becomes tiresome fairly quickly
i've been on atkins for five years and have lost a third of my body weight. you don't need to avoid carbs completely to strip off kilos.

They're not good for you. Our bodies need carbohydrates - particularly if you're very physically active (especially athletes). The ones to eliminate are the refined carbohydrates such as sugar, white flour, etc. If they come from fresh fruit or whole grains, for example, the carbs are very good for you.

if it is only for two weeks, NO ( like Atkins ) but if you put them aside for always, YES, it is very harmful and the worst thing is that your hair starts falling .
