I pay more property tax than my neighbors. I appealed twice. However, I was not success. I frequently receive letter from company claim they can help me to reduce my property tax. They only share 50% of first years tax whatever they saved for me. I am wondering should I believe them or not.

Gratefully,

That depends upon the state where you live. If you're in CA, it's not at all unusual for your tax bill to be substantially higher or lower than your neighbors due to the way that property taxes are levied in CA under Prop 13. In that case, it makes no sense to try to appeal the valuation or the tax.

Even in other states, there's no magic to appealing your property taxes. The only thing you can appeal is the valuation of your home. If the valuation is proper then your appeal will fail. If it is not, it's not all that hard to prove, particularly if you have just purchased your home.

reducing the appraisal does not mean your taxes will decline. Did you think of to ask the tax assessor if the fee went up or stayed the comparable If it stayed the comparable then you definately will see an extremely small decline on your belongings tax of merely some funds. Your month-to-month very own loan cost may well be diminished by ability of merely $20 and it is frequently months in the previous your very own loan lender gets the paperwork on the readjusted belongings tax invoice. So do not bypass spending any funds

I did this - O'Connor ad Associates. They got my value down almost $10K. I paid them $135.
