I have been taking about 2 7.5 Loratabs a day for about 6 months. I am quitting and I am doing the cut back method. I started taking one 5 days ago 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 in the afternoon and tomorrow I'll take 1/2 for 5 days. When do you start to feel normal again? And I am having withdrawal symptoms. Naushea Stomach Cramps Dizziness and the runs but I swear it feels like my heart is pounding out of my chest is that normal??

Sounds like withdrawal, although 2 tabs a day doesn't sound like a lot. Have you stopped any other meds?
Perhaps you ought not to cut back any more until your symptoms have improved, then go ahead with the cutting back. Generally, if you have been on a narcotic for so long, you have to go really slow. I probably would have recommended cutting back by not more than 1/2 tablet each week until you got off entirely- that would've taken a minimum of 3 full weeks. Even though I said that 2 tabs a day doesn't sound like much, you DO need to get off them, unless you have a chronic problem and your doctor recommends that you continue .

I've never been through it , but hear that withdrawal is pretty unpleasant, but usually not life threatening. Drink plenty of fluids- but no alcohol, and limit caffeine.

Good luck
