You are blaming the victim, and by your analogy if a child takes candy from a stranger and gets raped its their fault.
Are you really that dense?

NQV isn't it true that according to Sharia law a rape has to be witnessed by 2 men or 4 women (they aren't as valuable as men) and they must testify so.
Because of this requirment it is extremely rare for a man to be prosecuted for rape, but very frequently the women is charged for adultery, for being with a man not her realtive.

This girl lives in a Moslem country that guards Islam's holiest site, she was raped by 7 Moslem men, she was tried by a Moslem judge and sentenced according to Moslem law.

So who exactly is trying to defame Moslems?
Themselves?

According to several of the muslim men here on R&S, the woman (victim) "instigated" and "caused" the men to rape her. Apparently it was HER fault for being there.

So, I suppose that's how it's done when the law is according to "peace", huh?

This is yet another example of the true nature of islam.

bismillaah (in the name of Allaah, God Almighty)

The judicial cases are one of the most controversial issues that one love discuss and on the same line the most argumentative issues desired by media to manipulate with.

In fact, each person kicks the judge out, sits in his place, without learning any thing about law, religion, culture ...etc, brings his own system and recites his judgment without forgetting to sue every one but the victim.

I doubt if most of those who commented read the piece of news since the link didn't work (the BBC one does work fine). Some might read about it but, like every one else including me, they are not neutral or it is so difficult to be so.

It seems the girl complained about the rape and the judge asked her "What have you been doing there?". She then has to admit that she was in company with those guys. Here in KSA, this is fooling around, it is, not only legally but even culturally, NOT accepted.

It was not fair not to punish her since she did an illegal issue. By the way, the other picture that anti-Islamic-law people don't like talking about (here at least) is that the guys' necks are UNDER the sword.

She shouldn't have tempted them by being with them, for us here when a girl goes around alone with such guys, usually she is more vulnerable to accept other things. All this is a guessing. However, the judge is there not on Yahoo.

Another issue is that some people from over there (USA) tries to describe Hijab as an oppression. Read the statistics down there! They teach Muslim women that she should be ‘liberated’ according to their system and later on they do not want her to be exposed to such dangers. If we take Hijab off, people will think this is USA not KSA.

To solve your own problem, apply Islamic laws!

True, but you're slanting the case - not that that it isn't totally wrong, but the total story needs to be presented.

The rapists are in prison, which is the only good thing about this.

Their law is that females can not ride in a car with males other than their relatives. (I do not agree with this as it is a very repressive law and results in this kind of event).

Then as this story was exposed to the press the punishment was increased from 90 lashes to 200 as they viewed it as a challenge to the judicial authority. Once again, this is a repressive action and a statement against human rights.

This is a very good example of why religion or morality should not have a part in the civil laws of any country.

These are lies concocted to make Islam and Muslims look bad. In some cases, the judges themselves are corrupt individuals who try to defame Islam by doing things completely contrary to the laws of Islam, which are very clear about rape.

If a man rapes a woman, the punishment to that man is stoning, to make an example of him for all other potential rapists. No mercy is to be shown to such a rapist, as he not only tried to destroy the life of the woman, by forcing her to have his baby, but would also try to destroy the life of the potential baby. In general the punishment for destroying lives is death in Islam. In this case the perpetrator of rape not only tries to destroy the life of the woman, but also the life of a potential child as well.

So, learn the facts and do not repeat propaganda. By the way the story you refer above does not exist.

any rape to a poor girl is not fair to her. Especially did this hedious crime under the disguise of religion belief. she didn't need to be punished like this, she only acted under what human beings need to survive in this vicious world: love. she loves her man, they should punished nobody in this case. Love is good for us all in this world. I think all the religion should exercise some love than there will be no more wars, disputes and disagreement between any religions.

I don't need to read the story to know it's wrong. There is a lot of violence against women in Arabic speaking countries. It doesn't have anything to do with the religion, it has to do with their perversion of their religion. Which is yet another reason why I think religion should be outlawed.

EDIT: Besides, punishing the victim there is not any different than it is here. At least they're more up front about it than they are here. Here they just whisper behind their hands and imply that you're a liar and that you deserved it somehow. And the majority of the people here are Christian.
