Diseases are not founded like a school, church or institution. A person does not wake up one morning and decide to found a disease or even to discover one.
Symptoms of lupus have been described in the medical literature for a long time. Your question is far too vague for us to answer.

Can't answer your question but my Mom died of Lupus in 1963 and the doctor told us it was a very rare disease and not much was known about it. So in l963 it was known but considered rare.
