So I'm at work ... minding my own business and a guy walks in (probably somewhere between the ages of 20 and 30). He asks if we have a pay phone, and I told him that we did not but there are two pay phones at the gas stations up the street (which is no more than like 100 yards away). He then asks if he could use our phone, and I politely told him no that it was not a public phone and was against policy to allow anyone but a guest to use the phone. He then starts to walk away and says "Fat b*tch." And as he walked out the door, he turned around and said "You won't let me use the phone cause you're a f*cking c*nt." .... What was the point of that? I expect name calling from children in junior high. Are people really that stupid?

Since when a WOMEN wants to use a phone she is always allowed to because of the discrimination garbage that something might happen to her if she should have to go wandering around looking for another one (On the streets) . So the guy is probably sick of that crap & feels discriminated against because you know very well that if a women came in wanting to use the phone you would let her. You see this garbage going on all the time. It's the same garbage that they tell women to have the security guard walk them to their cars. You don't ever see any one telling a guy to have the security guard walk them to their cars.

I just read last night that a symptom of ADD or ADHD is exploding in anger and using rude language to hurt someones feeling. It's so impulsive that it just comes out as raw emotion and bypasses the brain that would normally stop such behavior.
On the other hand maybe he was just being a jerk and had a bad day.
Hope you feel better and don't take it to heart. He probably says stuff like that to everyone all the time.

Just a low class cad, looking use a phone for free. He is too cheap to use a pay phone. In this day and age, he should have a cell phone. Ignore morons like that, they are not worth your time.

I used to work in retail, and I would get people like that from time to time. Some people just like to pick everything apart and get mad at every little thing. Also, some people just never grow out of that childhood trait of throwing temper tantrums when they don't get their way. I grew out of it. But then again, my mom made it a point to correct me when I did that. Maybe this guy's parents didn't do that.

I like jjeffcot answer and would like to add that the person may have been bi-polar also. Just don`t take it personal. There are a lot of sick people in our society. Can you imagine how unhappy the person is to act that way towards a stranger.

sorry u had to put up with that. i know how rude some ppl can be, but i just laugh at them, and if i were u, i would have thought to myself "hahahaha sucker! have fun walking!"
u just gotta learn to laugh stuff like that off. when ppl are nasty like that usually just means they are having a bad day, week, or life. not anything personal against u, they just hate themselves for whatever reason, so they feel they have to tear u down in order to make themselves feel better. but you can rise above that, and just thank God that they arent people u live with, or have to see every day.

Unfortunately, the only answer to your question is "Yes."
People ARE that stupid.
They are angry at the world because it isn't always 100% convenient to them, and they take it out on whomever happens to be closest.
I'm sorry someone thought that you were deserving of that rubbish because you happened to be following the rules of your business.
THOSE people don't get paid by your boss!

The guy has problems, which are probably deep rooted and mental, he needs help!!

Some people are so rude. That is no way to talk to anybody even if you are upset with them. From what you wrote he had no reason to be upset with you apparently something was wrong or bothering this individual. That is still no excuse for his action.

Adults talk to way out of anger and frustration. Kids are made to behave so they try to act good but once one becomes an adult...It is do whatever you want.
