Commandment 10: you shalt not covet

This Commandment includes all things that are thy neighbors, whether it be thier wife/husband, car, clothes, anything belonging to them. It is not saying that you cant ask God for one just like thiers if you wish. What God is speaking of here, is desiring this object so much as to wish the owner evil. Coveting often leads to Envy and then to strife. Once this course of thought begins, it can rage like a wild-fire causing you and the other person dismay.

I dont know about you but I have always liked and wanted (Not that I ever try) my best friends boyfriend. Does this mean I have sinned and have you ever sinned because of this commandment?

Yes! We all have!

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Heb. 9:27

We are judged by the Ten Commandments.

Ever told a lie?
Ever hated anyone? See 1 John 3:15
Ever lusted after someone? See. Matt. 5:27-28
Ever blasphemed?

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10

Lawbreakers go to hell.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Gal. 5:19-21

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8

This is clear and humbling. However God made a way so we wouldn't have to go to hell. Jesus (God in flesh) came to earth, lived a sinless life, and was crucified on our behalf. He rose three days later defeating death and in turn giving us an escape route from hell. But Jesus did command us to repent. That means to turn from sin to God. The perfect example of repentance is found in Psalm 51.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

You see when you repent God gives you a new heart and new desires and they are desires to serve Him. As a result you are biblically born again! That my friend is good news!

Yes, we sinned if we did the Bad Thing, but we dont sinned before we born, why should god sin us when we dont do anything bad, Is he stupid something or else? Someone Responsible for what he did not anyone else. even Judge punish the the thief not the thief's son or grandson unless they all are thieves. Is Judge better than God?????

Because you are born a sinner, you sin. Not the other way around. So, yes, I can assure you that every human who was ever born of a woman, with the one key exception of Jesus Christ, has sinned.

Why is Jesus the exception? Because He is also God, and God cannot sin.

How can God die? He can't unless He takes on the form of a man, as our precious Jesus did.

Salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ makes SO MUCH SENSE if, by faith, you seek to understand and to believe.

Of course we've all sinned. That's a given. Look around you. Look at yourself. Each and every day we do something wrong compared to living a perfect life -

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

It's because of that sin that we deserve to go to Hell (could imperfect people go to heaven? no! Romans 6:23), but luckily God gave us his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins (Romans 5:8) God says - even though we ARE sinners, all we have to do is pray one prayer, believing that Jesus Christ was the person who could save you from your sin, and then know for sure you can go to heaven one day (Romans 10:9) - make sure you know today!

Think about it. :)

While I think the idea that people are born sinners is utter rubbish, I think everyone has broken GODs law at one time or another. The point isn't in how often you fall though, but how willing you are to take the hand of your Lord (GOD, not Jesus) and get back up again and strive to walk upright in the ways of GODs will.

I personally, cannot remember ever coveting anything that my neighbour has, I don't care what other people have compared to what I have.

We are born into sin, each of us already has the instict, to be selfish, and all the other things we can possibly do wrong, the only thing that can change us, is accepting we are sinners, and to believe Jesus went to the cross for our sins and ask forgiveness, repent away from our sins, and invite The Holy Spirit to dwell within us.

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

To sin is human - to forgive is divine.

Absolutely, we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. Satan makes sin look good...The thing to remember, sin is only fun for a season and then comes judgement...if you sow good things, your future will be full of goodness...if you sow bad seeds...well, you reap whatever you sow. It is completely understandable, and yes, i have been there....and even acted upon it in my past...it only leads to heartache and trouble...resist the temptation, pray and God will send you the right one for you. God bless...jmi

Sin means to miss the mark of God. Only christians can sin, because nobody else cares or even believes in sin.

If a man says he is without sin he is a liar and the truth is not in him.
