No, it really doesn't matter to me at all, I take the first legal deer I can.

I've been hunting Deer for 40 years now and I've gotten my share of big bucks, but to be honest I have never been a "Trophy Hunter" looking for big racks. I am a meat hunter and eat what I kill, so a fat Doe will work just as well. Nothing goes to waste, and what I don't use I donate to feed the hungry and less fortunate..An Old Timer once told me "Son..... You can't eat the Antlers." I guess I have that same philosophy, and have my whole life.

i was raised to fill the freezer and not the empty spot on the wall. i hunt for the tasty one and not for the huge big stinky mule deer in the rut with all the hormones running through the system. i am not saying that if i happen to come across a trophy buck early in the season i won't take it but it's not a priority to have a big rack.
when my father was growing up with 6 brothers and sisters the need for food on the table was more important and i have the same views.

If all hunters only hunted for the trophy buck, then half of the hunters in the world would never kill a thing.

If hunting for a buck I trophy hunt shooting 130 or better class bucks!
If meat hunting I try to look for 1.5 or 2.5 year old age class animals!
All meat is eaten and with older animals the meat is aged and taste fine not as good as a young one but a good roast some bbq meat and summer sausages from an old guy is darn good too!

I like watching them all.
As for shooting, I learned at an early age that the doe kill is an important management tool, not to mention that they eat better. As for the bucks, I don't shoot 2 year olds, and it has to be an outstanding 3 year old. On the other hand, a less-than-sterling 8 year old isn't going to get any better and a clean shot seems a mercy. As you might guess, I'm not upset if I don't kill a good buck every year.

i can in straightforward terms provide you my opinion on the enormous racked greenbacks. with regard to the only thank you to kill them is to seek each and every minute you could during the rut. Hunt the place the does are and the greenbacks would be there faster or later. it is the only time of the year that the particularly enormous ones make a mistake. you could hunt over bait piles something of your existence and kill an fantastic quantity of deer. yet you will by no potential kill the mature 4-6 year previous deer over a bait pile. They feed at nighttime on the bait and lay up all day. There are exceptions to each rule, and that i'm specific that somebody someplace has killed a huge one over bait. yet it somewhat is the uncommon exception and not the rule.

No, the meet is often not the best, rather a doe is ideal for this. A trophy buck is just that, a trophy.
It all really depends on why you hunt I suppose.
