A GFI plug (ground fault interrupted) is no different than any other plug except for the fact that it has a built in breaker. Thats why the are required by building code to be in any location that has a high moisture content. You can plug in any electrical device into it and it works the same.

Anything you want really. My kitchen and both bathrooms are wired to the same gfi circut. Just remember that 10 amps is all you get so don't add too much if you don't want to be continually resetting the breaker.

You can connect other receptacles so they are protected.
