I just bought a new BMX bicycle. The brand is "smoke" and it smoked itself. The chain came of 5 times and the seat won’t stay up. I bought it from academy for $100 and it was $140 originally. How much would I have to spend on a BMX bike in order for the chain not to come of?

I agree with one of the other guys above !
It's definitely been set up badly, by the retailer!!!! Take it back and get them to check it over AGAIN !! Preferably speak to the manager!
It shouldn't matter how much the bike costs, - this is unacceptable!

I'm gonna agree with chas. Alot of it sounds like shop setup.
Not too much a bmx person, but I know enough to say that eastern is definitely a great brand to check out.
Not too expensive for some of them, either..

It sounds more a thing of setup than the bike itself. Go back to Academy and they should set it right. If they can't, go to a bike shop and they will probably do it right.

Everyone here will agree. Take it back and get some satisfaction. Talk to the manager -- owner if possible. I bet once they fix it you will love your bike. Give it a go.

it sounds like it may be an issue w/ the shop's assembly of the bike.
you should definintely take it back there, tell them your experience, and ask them to make it right.
I would expect them to Do The Right Thing.

i good bike is $300 plus. your should go to ebay next time and get a GT or redline
