Hello! (not an Atheist) but:
I AM GOD's Nut! What's so Crazy about that?
Just Because GOD Almighty gives me Dreams, Visions, Opens my Eyes to "See" into the Spiritual Ream, Done some Miracles, Calls Things that be not as Though they Were--and they Change---Angels Guard me---do you Think I AM Crazy?
I AM not Crazy, I AM a Nut!
GOD Said so HimSelf.
HE also called me a Marine--cause I fought so Long and Hard!
Dit=====================to!
GOD's Nut!
Over and Out!

Why should I respect an irrational belief? And like it or not, since there is no evidence of God beyond holy books, you're faith is irrational. There is no verifiable proof of any aspect of divinity. People take those irrational beliefs and influence everything. From local ordinance laws to foreign policy. For something that wields such power in the world, shouldn't we be allowed to demand proof before allowing it to run amok in our society? Isn't that the most responsible thing to do?

Because most Christians want to turn this country into a Theocracy. Most Christians feel that it is necessary to convert everyone into Christianity. Most Christians feel that freethinking, independent thoughts and knowledge is evil and that anyone who shows these traits and wants everyone to do the same, are posed by the devil.
Most Christians want to do away with all forms of science and simply say god did and use prayers as a way to cure someone.

Stop labeling all Atheists as thinking that Christians are "crazy".
Do you honestly think Christians all have the same beliefs?

I am an atheist and I have no "beliefs" in any gods. I answer questions, and I counter the lies told about atheists.

Never underestimate the impact that can be made by crazy people in large numbers. Y'all are allowed to vote, right? That's what's scary. You may enact legislation that I have to obey, and it may be unconstitutional; it may infringe upon my religious liberty, and you... well, MOST of you won't care.
You won't care OR you'll "rationalize" it away, saying "it's a Christian nation" or "it ain't so bad, why can't you just go along with it" or "if you keep Christian prayer out of school, you're oppressing me!"

When the "crazy" people feel like pushing their beliefs into government, schools, etc and stifle progress--it matters to me.

it probably woudnt if the so called christians wouldnt keep trying to shove their beliefs down their throats. some of us are not atheists, nor are we christians. we are free thinking human beings that question things. we have no label, so we are either atheists, or non-believers. why is that?

I don't defend my beliefs, I argue them.
Why? Because your beliefs are the reason I'll never be able to be married in the true sense.
