not only is it illegal, but horses seem to have at least as much intelligince as dogs. They have presonalityies, and are pretty loyal. So people probably don't eat horses for the same reason they don't eat dogs- thier too nice

People do eat horses, especially in European countries. When I was in France, I saw a horse butcher shop. I've never eaten it myself, but I hear that the meat is sweet.

They do just not in the USA.
French, Italians, Swiss, Japanese and Quebecois in Canada are horse meat aficionados and most of the 65,000 horses slaughtered in the country were shipped to Europe, Japan and to the province of Quebec.

People do.
But here, it's illegal. It's as she says: Too many people view them as majestic, slightly more wild pets, or brethren. Emotional attachment and cultural reasons.
But just like with cats and dogs, in some countries they eat them. Then again, in some countries enough people starve to a point they'll eat anything.

I've read and heard stories on the news where some places were shut down due to serving horse meat.

i guess they don't taste that great...i'm not a real big meat eater anyway, i couldn't imagine eating a horse, unless i was starving and the only hope of survival was to eat a horse, and i still wouldn't like it.

Many do in Europe, & dogs in the orient.
Whereas many Indians will not eat cows.
And middle-eastern people will not eat pigs.
These are all cultural prejudices.
Some jungle tribes have been said to eat people.

Because they have an emotional attachment to them, just like dogs and cats.

Because they're pets. Have you ever heard of eating dogs or cats?
