In my religion, you are only allowed to get buried. Isn't it better anyway?

sorry if this is rediculous.

i think it helps the environment better if you're buried, because I'm pretty sure your body is decomposable.

I just recently creamated my mother and husband. I was brought up to believe in burial because then the family and friends would have someplace to go to grieve or say goodbye. But my family has recently changed it's mind and I have also. We have already a large number of family members with burial plots so we have found out that we can place the urns for burial around the plot, (up to 5--2 on each side and 1 at the foot). We figured the land was already in use for cemetary and could not be use. So we save space by surronding our other loved ones. Or just keep them and pass them down,,,Some places require that you place the urn inside a sealed urn box,,,double the tree take down,,,. What do they want,,if it is sealed in a onyx , metal or even wood container,, why the extra one.???? Ashes are ashes.....no germs, no bugs, just clean ash. Make sure you check with the regional heath board before you spread and get a permit. Laws and more laws,,,ain't death grand

bury it as long as you don`t have to kill a few trees to do it .

What should someone do with a dead body?
.

you make a hole about one meter square and 2 .5 meters deep.
you place the body in a sitting position,
then you put a load of compost or a bale of hay on top
to assist decomposition
plant a tree and close the hole.
preferable a fruit tree
(the same applies to dead animals .)

if every one did this we would have sacred orchards
instead of deforested plots full of cement,

coffins also means having to kill trees
a 100 000 000 dead Christians means 10.000 HECTARES OF DEFORESTATION.

and the saying ashes to ashes ,
dust to dust would be true instead of
by sealing it in a dead tree often lined with zinc,

breaking the cycle of life
whereby death is food for life
breaking second most important law of Nature
which is the the law of return

as long as the death is registered ,this is legal all over the world.

We talked our 90 year old devote Catholic mother into cremation even though she had/has a Resurrection Cemetery plot that has long been paid for. Why? We believe the ground should be used for growing food. Cemeteries do not let you grow crops over dead bodies. What a waste of precious fertile land.

Not ridiculous at all. I've been thinking a lot about that lately. Your question and my concerns/thoughts, made me search the Internet...

While http://www.cremate-me.net/env.php does not give you a YES or NO answer, you can figure it out. I read what's on the site. Could not watch "the process", though.

Thanks for the Question; without it, I would not have had the "guts" to look it up.

Burying. Creamation raises the overall temperature and puts noxious gases into the atmosphere.
And then there is the problem of ashes...

You're dead, what does it matter? Yes, burning the body will create heat and stuff, but taking up a piece of land that cannot grow anything I THINK is worse. Consider donating your body to science?

Cremation, its great for the garden!
Caskets take to long to brake down and the bones really reak havoc with the roto tillers!
