....and Heaven is so beautiful and peaceful, why then do they cling to life in such a desperate way in a world of injustice and cruelty? Do they want to emulate Jesus or are they in doubt?
To doubt is to think.

Life is considered a gift, not too many humans want to leave before their time.

Christians (be careful how you lump us all together and make blanket statements) in general believe life is to be lived, I don't know what you mean by "cling", I don't cling to my life. So, that makes that statement incorrect.

Next, yes this world is pretty lousy, but we are here to make it a better place and spread the word of God too.

We are to emulate Jesus as best we can, however we are human, so that is pretty difficult, but we try. And yes, we doubt sometimes about certain things, we are human, that does not mean we are not sincere about our beliefs.

We are thinkers, so to insinuate we don't is foolish on your part. You obviously don't understand that the Bible clearly talks about doubting and that God knows we grow concerned and doubt if He will help, or that He hears, etc.

I know God can help and I know He hears, but when life throws some pretty bad things my way, I do get frustrated. At that point, I try to pray and I get a wonderful peace.

being a christian is not about abandoning all and allowing ourselves to die. Christians have a job here on earth before going forth to heaven. Christians are suppose to share the good news of the kingdom of God thereby none is lost.
Christian are not to emulate Jesus's death on the cross if that is what you are driving at. Jesus was tried as a criminal at the hands the the Jewish priesthood. Jesus came to die for our sins. We can't die for our own sins or for anybody else's. Therefore, we are not to emulate Jesus in death, only in sharing the message of the good news of the kingdom of God and the message of forgiveness if that is what one seeks from God.

We are carnal by nature. We are humans and we react to things in a human manner. In a natural earthy manner.

Contrary to popular belief, We did not get a packet of INSTANT HOLY and a bottle of GOD`S KNOWLEDGE the second we decided to follow God.

You don`t become a surgeon or race car driver just reading one book. You learn as you gorw. And so do we. Yeah we screw up. We always will.. There are NO perfect humans and God doesn`t ask for perfect, Praise God!!

He knows there are no perfect people. He loves us anyway, just like any other Dad.. And that is all he asks of you.. to LOVE him>>>>

Peace & God bless from Texas <><

Your question shows the level of ignorance you have not only about religion, but about instincts for survival, humanity, the biochemical and physiological functions of the brain, of thought processes and the psychology of belief. You put atheism on a pedestal, almost as if you "worship" unbelief with the same stupid closed-minded zealotry that distinguishes certain religious fundamentalist. Maybe you are a "FUNDAMATHEIST".

We all have lives to live on Earth, you know. We can't just pop into Heaven because it's a nice place to be--there's a reason we are here and we need to find it. There is a season for all things, and right now mine is here on Earth -- what is yours?
