No.

Humans do not have the enzymes to digest paper. It would be just like eating grass or hay. It would pass on through.

I would assume that all things our bodies are able to digest (like paper) have a caloric content, so eating plastic or metal probably won't do anything for you other than mess up your insides. I don't know how many calories, but I'm assuming far fewer than any actual food. My guess is that a piece of paper would have less than 50 calories.

Thinking about it though, if you're able to digest something, wouldn't that technically make it edible (such as the paper) even if it's not palatable? I would assume that if you aren't able to digest something (it's truly unedible) your body can't get any energy (calories) out of it so no, non-edible things don't have calories. Just make sure they actually aren't edible before you go binging.

I think one of the answers on here is diffantely false because I see people making those heatlhy shakes with grass all the time! I believe there is energy in grass. Possibly paper too. I've eaten a fruit roll-up wrapper once when I was a kid and I was fine don't know if it gave me energy though. Yeah, the guy below me is right paper is editable because you can digest it. So if we're talking about metal or plastic good luck with that!

Really good question. I do not think it is anything. Kids at my school eat paper, and so do I. I never thought to myself how much calories or fat is in it. Probibly none is my guess.

a calorie is the amount of energy it takes for to raise 1 gram of water by 1 degree. so i would say yes it doesn't matter what you eat.

Well...if it's non-edible, I don't know how you would digest it to retain any calories.

i think yea because supposedly if u can burn something it has energy. Also paper is made from trees & bark is on trees & in the winter deer it bark so it has to hav energy or the deer would just die.
