Well.... After seeing everyone say "Call Animal Control", I just had to state that Animal Control will not always help! The area that I live in, animal control will have nothing to do with cats unless YOU take the cat to them yourself!
I have had this years ago,,,, I took a THICK blanket, threw it over the cat, wrapped the cat up in the blanket and put it down outside and made it so that the cat can find it's own way out of the blanket and left it there for a few minutes.
If the cat is behind the toilet or something like that, you might have to use the broom to get the cat from behind the toilet and then get the blanket on the cat... Obviously, don't beat the cat with the broom, just push the cat around with the broom, yes it will piss him off even more, but will get him to move.

Call your local pet shop ask where you can get a cat trap tell them what going on and they can tell you some ideas best thing is to shut the door give the cat time to calm down don't yell at it or chase it with a broom it well only make the cat more upset an can hurt you don't toss a blanket over it unless you have heavy gloves on to protect your arms and hand keep the cat from your face some times they can get a foot out of the blanket and go for the face .

How did a stray cat get stuck in your bathroom?
It is pissed off, so I would get a towel or blanket and try to catch it with this. It probably has it claws as you say it is a stray.Be careful of the claws, they will hurt you. Throw the towel(blanket) over it and catch it and put it outside. Unless you know the owner of the cat, tell them to come and get it.
Just watch he/she doesn't bit you either....it might be rabid.
Good luck

Maybe a net. Or call an animal control facility to come out and get it. Do you have a cage? Hmm...Maybe put a can of food inside a cage, then just close the cage door. Or perhaps a net? Just be gentle with it.

Relax. Get a broom and get a towel wet. Then go in the room and poke the cat with the broom a few times and when it charges towards the open door in a panic use the wet towel to wrap him up in.

If you have no other animals in the house that could run out the door, then open your front and back door and the cat will leave on it`s own.

Call the animal service number. They'll catch it for you. It might have rabies. Try not to come near it, touch it, or provoke it. Leave it alone for now or else you might get bit or scratched.

How the hell did it get in?
Geez...I'd call animal control or a local animal rescue agency for help. If feral, it may carry disease that puts you at risk.
You need to make a route for it to get out safely.

It's not pissed, it's afraid. Perhaps you can call animal control. It would be better to call a rescue group in your area. they are very familiar with scared animals.

Call animal control; they'll come in and get the cat for you. Its important for you to not touch the cat; it could carry deadly diseases.
