Just resently my cat went from being an outside cat ALWAYS to inside, and i thought that he would be healthier and loving life, but the past couple weeks he has been acting sickly, I took him into the vet for his cold like symtoms, (only aware of lumps by his neck and one on his tummy) and the vet said that the cold like sysmtoms could be anything due to the fact that he hasn't had his vaccinations. I mentioned lumps by neck & that he had one on his tummy, the vet rubbed his neck and didn't really say anything about it ( you know how you go in there for one thing thats all they care about) i asked if it was cancer & they sayed no, probably just from an old scratch or something, So they gave me ammoxiccilian & sent me on my way. Over the last week & a half he has gotten several different lumps in several different places including back, head more on tummy etc. & some have gotton bigger!! I called vet & she just said maybe fleas! But they are under skin and growing bigger! HELP!!

If you have a cat specialist Vet in your area please take him there. If not then find a different vet. There is something wrong with your kitty.

Please remember to vaccinate your kitty every year. They need them and they need that doctor visit.

He should get
FeLuke
FIV (This is Feline Immunodeficiency Virus not Feline AIDS)
FRVCP
calicivirus
panleukopenia
chlamydophila
Rabies. Some states offer 3 year rabies shots. after the first one. Your kitties First Rabies will be for 1 year then all after that if you do not skip a vaccine are three years.

The symtoms of Rhinotracheitis is this :
The most common signs of respiratory disease are sneezing, cough, discharge from the eyes, nose or mouth, conjunctivitis (eyelid infections), difficult breathing, gagging, fever, mouth ulcers, general depression, lack of appetite, and weight loss. High death rates can occur in young cats, immune-suppressed cats, and “old” cats. Some infections last only a few days, while others may be present for weeks or months. This problem can also cause skin problems too. You do need a vet, and people can get sick from this , but in milder forms .

P.S. The first case I ever saw of this was in the State of Florida, but it can be anywhere and it is spread from one cat to another.

It`s a virus and antibiotics won`t help, plus I`d get a different vet.

Whether it's a cold or fleas, your vet should be doing something about it! First, find another vet. It could be any one of a number of things, from allergies to something very serious.

I had a cat develop lumps all over her body. It turned out it was a vitamin E deficiency caused by the cheap cat food a friend had been feeding her while I was out of town. I had to give her Vitamin E capsules for several months and, of course, feed her a different brand of food, but she was fine.

Get to another vet and make sure he/she finds out what's wrong with your cat.

i would definitly take your cat to another vet and really express your concern as it does sound like your cat has feline influenza but the lumps dont sound right and with cat flu they dont get lumps. because your cat was an outside cat that could be the reason why the sickness because your cat would be used to the inside suroundings and the chemicals that you may use in your house but even your deodorant could do this maybe your cat is allergic to being inside? just a thought.

Not a good vet! Sounds like the cat may have mutiple abcess that if not treated properly, infection travels and they reoccur. They can kill the cat. Take him to another vet right away and tell them about your prevous visit. He will need blood work done to find out what is wrong. Good luck.

My male cat snores like a freight train, louder than my significant other, and he snores loud. He (cat) gets allergies every once in a while, but the snoring is constant and does not seen to be associated with it. Our vet mentioned scrapings, but said at this point it wasn't necessary, so I haven't had it done. Sounds kind of scary to me and I really don't want to do it. He mentioned that their were "palups" in the back of his throat and nose. (sorry can't spell it) At your cats next check up make sure you mention it, and keep an eye on the frequency. But I don't think you have anything to worry about and I wouldn't make a special trip to the vet unless it really starts affecting him. Edit: Thanks Lynne I knew it wasn't spelled right. My boy also gets the nasal sounds awake too!

They might be Cysts. take hm back in and suggest this so they can check. Vets are sometimes stupid and greedy and want you to keep coming back in to find out what is wrong w/ them to make mor $!!! (NOT ALL OF THEM THOUGH!!) take him to a different vet better yet and see what that one thinks about the lumps! Good Luck!

Find a new vet. All those lumps have to be something bad.

i agree with perfidy. It can be hives which would explain the breathing difficulty and bumps. Take him to another vet and take him off the medicine, just to be safe.

No one on here can really help. I would advise though, that you see another vet. This one is obviously not interested in really helping you.
