Heart problems aren't usually displayed with headaches.
What you're describing sounds like a cluster headache. I've had them for a while now and they are agonizing. They can cause numbness in your hands, fingers and face as its related to a nerve problem. They also most commonly present at night and can last for hours, keeping the sufferer awake.
Cluster headaches are usually exclusively one sided, and sadly no pain medication works. Oxygen helps this condition which is why exersize might have helped you. If it was a heart problem, exersize would do the oppposite. Go see a doctor and ask for an MRI scan for the headaches, and get yourself checked out overall. If it is cluster headaches you need to get it checked, its not dangerous but is it painful.

Two ideas here-
1. Chirpractic problem. If your neck or back is out, a certain action you are doing at night could be setting off a headache to tell you to fix it. I used to get headaches every day after lunch and after a few weeks my right arm would go numb when the headaches came. Then it was my whole right side and it did it all the time. Turns out my back was so far out of whack that pressure was being put on those nerves when I was in gym stretching and causing all these problems. I haven't had a headache in 3 years (I go to the chiropractor once a month).
2. Caffine withdrawl. Do you drink alot of coffee, tea, pop, etc? It is possibly your body is addicted to it (it's actually the most overused drug in the world) and because you are not consuming it at night it is retailiating by giving you headaches.

You must see a doctor.
Migraines are or can be a health problem.
I too suffer with migraines, and I'm being treated by a doctor for them. These headache can be very serious.
I don't know that they have any thing to do with heart failure, and i don't know that they don't.
It's also sound as if you may be under a lot of stress that could also add to this.
See a doctor as soon as you can.

I feel for you! I have had Migraines all my life. I am older now and they are not as bad. Mine were related to hormone's. Worst at that time of the month. Now that I don't have to worry about that, my headaches are fewer and fewer. I used to have some numbness in my hands, that never happens any more. If I were you, I would go to see my Doctor and tell him or her what you are experiencing. Also give the Doctor your Family History because that means so much. Especially since your sister had heart failure at a young age. Please, do not wait, go see your doctor and be safe and sure. Also, Some people are allergic to feathers, your pillow is not feathers is it? that could give you headaches each night if you are exposed to an allergen. My Best to You..........

Migraines are vascular headaches that are often a result of a trigger ie, stress, foods, allergies etc. if you are having pain and numbness in your arm then have it checked out by your doctor to rule out any heart problems. Just know that an increase in stress reaks havoc on the body especially the heart. ranging from headaches such as migraines and clusters, heart palpatations, pain in the arm, neck, back, and tense muscles and vision problems. your breathing will be short and shallow to with increase stress too. if excedrine is not working, ask your doctor for some medication specifically for the treatment of migraines as most sufferers will tell you tylenol and ibuprofen do not work.know what the trigger is so you can tell the doctor. when you do experiance another migraine, try the excedrine or meds the Dr. gives you and lay down with a cool cloth on your neck. keep your room dark and free from noise and light. most people can sleep them off. if it gets too bad go to the ER and they can treat you with meds. A common medication injection for migraines is toradol.
good luck

Heart problems generally don't cause headaches. Heart problems can cause numbness, but more often, numbness is caused by compression of a nerve where emerges from the spine or crosses a joint (elbow, shoulder, or wrist). If the numbness begins in your shoulder or back and extends all the way down your arm, that's possibly a sign of a heart problem. If the numbness affects only part of your arm and also occurs with stiff or tight muscles, its more likely nerve compression.
There are many types of headaches. Headaches that occur regularly in the evening are often tension headaches, and tension headaches are often coupled with muscles spasms or numbness in the arms, neck, or shoulders.
Its probably a good idea to get checked by a doctor. If you find that neither of these symptoms are heart-related, you could consider visiting a chiropractor - they can sometimes work wonders with tension-type headaches.

I used to have the same problems with migraines when I was that age. I had them for about half of the time I was awake. There are tons of fast acting medication to help with this. You need to ask your doctor about it when you go it. The nose spray helped me the most. It is very effective, and works fast. Migraines are caused by blood vessels not expanding and restricting blood flow. Try putting a hot towel on your forhead. The heat helps them expand and gets the blood flowing... good luck man... I eventually grew out of it. It's most likely just your body changing, but I would definitely see a doctor about the arm. That's not head related, but It could be something with your circulation.

You NEED to go to your doctor. Migraines usually aren't related to heart problems, but your body is a fully connected system. The arm numbness is what really worries me, even moreso than the migraines.
A doctor can tell you if you need to see a specialist, as well as help you find a medication for your migraines.
