For God's sake, the guy is 78 years old. How dangerous could he be? Why don't the laws just admit they lost this one and move on to something else? They've wasted 12 years of taxpayers' money trying to find a guy who in all probability is dead. Admit defeat and stop wasting my money already.

He is a smart feller. After milling over this question a while, he has done some harm with his sales of illegal drugs. I cannot praise his past behavior. If he is alive, my hat goes off to him for avoiding the FBI for this long. I think it is a record. His brother was head of the senate in Massachusetts. One brother a leader in government, another the head of the Irish mafia. You couldn't write a more fascinating story then this one.

Are you a relative of one of the countless people he either personally murdered or ordered murdered? No?

Then you really have nothing to say.

BTW, I don't think there is any real "money" being spent actually chasing him. If a lead comes in, yeah they look at it, but there isn't any huge manhunt still ongoing for him. So rest assured, your one billionth of a penny allocated to the FBI is being well spent.
He isn;t being chased for how dangerous he is today, he is being sought for how dangerous he was. There is no statute of limitations on murder.

Now let's say somebody murdered your family. But the cops have little to go on. So do they just quit and say THIS one got away?

One, they don't get to pick and choose which crimes to pursue and which ones to just forget about.

Two, if they did, then it sends a clear message, stay hidden long enough and even if there's no statute of limitations, you'll still enjoy the effective implementation of it anyway.

Oh, more than 12 years later, they find the guy who murdered your family. Do you say, "Oh, well, 12 years have gone by, so it doesn't really matter anymore"...?
