I was in a car accident today, but no one was seriously injured. I was sitting in the back behind the passenger seat. We were making a u-turn, and a car collided with the side of the car, and smushed in the area around the front, right wheel. The car spun around two times and slid backwards in the lane.
It's been a few hours and I'm feeling really sore, mostly in my back, and I have a headache. I heard that this is normal, but I was wondering when or if I should get it checked out. If I'm still hurting in a few days should I go then, or should I be worrying about it now?

Yes, go now. Being sore is normal and hopefully it'll be fine soon but if something is wrong or the other people in the car find out they need medical attention later on, it'll just hurt your chances and theirs of being compensated.
Insurance companies are out to make money and whatever they DON'T have to pay, is just profit for them. If you end up going to see a doctor later because you're injured more than you thought, the insurance company will just say "you must have had another accident, the accident you were in last week couldn't be the cause otherwise you would've seen a doctor that day.
If the driver hasn't filed a police report, have them file it now. They can probably do it over the phone. Both insurance companies will want a copy.
If the insurance company doesn't compensate you and all the people in the car, or keeps giving you the run around, don't just be a nice person and let it go, get a lawyer and have them deal with it.
This may sound harsh and unnecessary but this is how insurance companies make money. They will purposely not return your call, delay payment and hand you off to another agent so you'll have to start all over again.

Some years ago I was at an accident site {as an EMT} and the female driver said she felt fine and refused medical attention from us or to go to the hospital. She went home and died 2 hours later. The force of the impact had ripped loose an aorta and she bleed out without any outside trauma. Had she went to the doctor they would have noticed immediatly a loss of blood pressure and been able to save her life. The point is you could have sore muscles or something worse so unless you are an M.D. and capable of self examination get your butt to a doctor now! The insurance from the car accident will cover your bill so you're out nothing but time.

Odds are the ER will just give you a dose of Tylenol or Advil and tell you to have someone check on you every couple of hours. If symptoms persist after a couple days, you'd be told to see your family doctor. IF you aren't worried about pissing off the driver and considering legal action, you definately need to go. A lawyer will tell you to go to the ER anytime you are involved in an accident that is someone else's fault just to have the leverage against the insurance company should they try to screw you on paying for your car damages.

Headache is not a normal result of a car accident without serious injury, unless it is from being yelled at by police, the other driver, or the insurance company. It can be a result of a serious injury TO YOUR BRAIN. Go to the emergency room and have them do a CAT scan immediately!

It's normal to be stoved up, but do get checked out anyway. Better now than later to have found out that it was way more serious than you thought it to be. Let the dr. make that call. He can also prescribe you something for the pain. Well wishes!!!
