this is kinda funny, but absolutely true. i have been an atheist for a couple of years now, but used to be a christian. i had a very nice leather bound bible that my grandparents gave me with my name engraved on it. i sometimes used it to debate with christians, but otherwise didn't use it much. anyway, my new dog actually ATE the damn thing! (ok, he really just chewed it to shreds) it was funny, cause i was like, now when people ask me if i've read the scripture i can say my dog ate my bible!

No, I cannot live without a Bible for 2 reasons:
1. The bible is the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth--->B.I.B.L.E.
2. It's the Word of God and He wants us to be prepared for the Last Days of being on Earth.

No one can live without the Bible, is what I think personally. We have to have an understanding of things to come and things that have happened already.

Proverbs 3:5 says,
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

We just need to leave things in God's hands.

I have lived very well without a Bible. It is not a necessary integral part of my life. Althought many hotels/motels provide Bibles in their rooms, I have never felt the need to peruse it or sleep with it. However, I consider myself a religious person and beg to differ with those who believe having a Bible is necessary in order to be so.

The bible is just a book, and we don't need the bible to worship God. The early church, until 398, didn't have a bible either...

So yeah, we as Christians can live without bibles...

I have 2 in my room.

Well, it is "the living word"...it's your choice, so why do you ask? If you CAN live without it, then go ahead. Enjoy your few short years here on earth instead of eternity. I will pray that you thirst for the living water and desire to turn your life over to God. God is love and peace, not bitterness and hate like some people spew at christians for "living".

Yes, I need the bible to live....

I had to see it to believe it, so God proved it to me (not christians by the way, most of the time they were counterproductive).... so yes, I do need the bible and love it.

I am of course an individual however, knowing I need the bible to live, does not mean I blindly follow.

YOU need the bible to live also... you just don't know it yet.

The Bible is essential for the growth of a Christian. I recognize that you know little about it considering your question (reading it is not satisfactory, you must study it.)

I sleep with mine on a table beside me. Many nights God has led me to look up scripture in the middle of the night. Any other Christains on fire for God experience this?

I could, but it is nicer to have one. Even people against the Bible should have and read one so they know what they are against.
