Hi, I am a mother of 5 beautiful gals
And me and four of my kids (because one is only like 4 months old) about 3 hours before super, once a week (usualy on fridays) round up all the newspaper, and get out this HUGE box full of craft supplies. We sit at the kitchen table, and do crafts, and talk about our week at school, and all the stuff that I don't get to do everyday because I work so much, So I can bond with my kids. Then we hang them on a HUGE coark borad, that covers about half a wall

ANYWAY, we are making christmas decorations, so we need things for center pieces, and things to hang in the window.

Oh, and the age groups are around 5-12

Thank you SOOO much!

A local hobbyshop is the place to go. Styrofoam shapes work great for this type thing. Balls, squares, rectangles, about anything will work. Just attach sequins, ribbons, lace, anything to fit the need or mood. Some are even stackable, like a base, a column, and a top cone. Some hobbyshops have a premade house, mounted on a foam board. Those are great to decorate as a candy house for Christmas. I forget the mixture, it is confectioner's sugar and eggwhites, I think, or maybe just water. Either way, it is spread on the entire surface, and candy canes, candy logs, gingerbread, licorice sticks, etc are all used to create a snow/yuletide environment, that can be stored for years.
They make a neat centerpiece, and everyone gets to contribute, also the styrofoam pieces the kids decorate can be put almost anywhere, even hung in windows. Have fun, and you sound like a great mom!!!

Take construction paper, cut into 1" strips, make a loop, glue or tape the ends together. Take another strip, loop it through the first one, glue or tape. Continue until all the strips are used & you will have a decorative chain. Have the children draw "snowflakes", cut them out & hang in the window(s). A roll of crepe paper can be twisted & hung also. Sorry, don't know how to tell about centerpieces except to show how.
