Christmas's coming up, my boyfriend's is in the US army. I want to knit for him, but I don't know what to knit. I want to knit something that he can actually use in the military. Any suggestion? Thank you :)

I wouldn't make anything too extravagant, maybe since it's close to Christmas, a personalized stocking, with a tiny photo album with his favorite photos would be nice, or maybe a Thank you letter to all the troops in his battalion? The possibilities are endless as long as it is something that won't make the others jealous. Not many people in the military get much from family for many reasons.

if he is deployed, he can't wear ANYTHING that is not issued. You could knit him a blanket, but nothing he can wear. Plus, you have to remember that nothing on their bodies can be "flammable." Some things have been deemed dangerous because they melt to the body and cause more harm than good. I'd say start knitting and do the blanket.

Unfortunately, anything you knit for him, he won't be able to wear in uniform. I suggest a beanie with his regimental crest on it.
