Multiply both sides of the equation by (0.002-x); that will eliminate the fraction. Then you just have a quadratic to solve.

In solving for this problem a little algebra and a help from your calculator will do.
First, multiply both sides by the factor (0.002-x), and you get:

[1.75e^(-5)](0.002-x) = x(0.004+x)

then distribute:
(1.75)(0.002)e^(-5) -1.75xe^(-5) = 0.004x +x^2

and combine similar terms:

x^2 + (0.004+1.75e^(-5))x - 0.002(1.75)(e^(-5)) =0

then try to get the quadratic equation function in your calculator by pressing on the MODE button. The calculator will ask for the value of "a", "b" and "c". These are the coefficients of the equation. In this equation:
a=1
b= 0.004+1.75e^(-5)
c=0.002(1.75)e^(-5)

Hope this help!
