By law every corp has to have a legal entinty.( a identifiable name) Ours is the Watchtower. We are not a publishing company but a religious organazation that prints and distributes religious material for educational purposes only..Someone may argue that the way the Witnesses speak about the Watch Tower Society—or more often just “the Society”—indicates that they view it as more than a legal instrument. Do they not consider it to be the final authority on matters of worship? The book Jehovah’s Witnesses—Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom clarifies this point by explaining: “When The Watchtower [June 1, 1938] referred to ‘The Society,’ this meant, not a mere legal instrumentality, but the body of anointed Christians that had formed that legal entity and used it.” The expression therefore stood for “the faithful and discreet slave.” (Matthew 24:45) It is in this sense that the Witnesses generally used the term “the Society.” Of course, the legal corporation and “the faithful and discreet slave” are not interchangeable terms. Directors of the Watch Tower Society are elected, whereas Witnesses who make up ‘the faithful slave’ are anointed by Jehovah’s holy spirit. In order to avoid misunderstandings, Jehovah’s Witnesses try to be careful about how they express themselves. Instead of saying, “the Society teaches,” many Witnesses prefer to use such expressions as, “the Bible says” or, “I understand the Bible to teach.” In this way they emphasize the personal decision that each Witness has made in accepting Bible teachings and also avoid giving the false impression that Witnesses are somehow bound to the dictates of some religious sect. Of course, suggestions as regards terminology should never become a subject of controversy. After all, terminology is of importance only to the extent that it prevents misunderstandings. Christian balance is required. The Bible admonishes us “not to fight about words.” (2 Timothy 2:14, 15) The Scriptures also state this principle: “Unless you through the tongue utter speech easily understood, how will it be known what is being spoken?”—1 Corinthians 14:9.

Last statement answered first: "The Bible" as you put it has in fact been corrupt by human hands, But his preserved "word" has not, and that within its self should answer all your other questions, I mean come on, how could a writing from man last so many years?
It is clear you have never held a new born in the palms of your hands, or ever watched a garden grow, Think about that, you take this real tinnie seed and put it into a little dirt add just a tad dose of water and soon it will keep you alive, and the same dirt can be used for thousands and thousands of differant little seeds. And you think that there isent ONE higher power a work here?
Go out side and look up into the night sky, did man do that? was that an accident?

I have come to respect other religions and no there are many different beliefs and each religion could argue for hours about who is right. So let me put it to you this way. I believe in the Bible and the Bible has been proven by archeologists to be true so thats what i have believed ever sonce i was small. And just the fact that the Bible has survived this long proves that people are constantly seeking for refuge in it's word, and many bible texts still apply to us today. Biology books change every ten years because new things are always being discovered with science.

One fact that you have is... text books as in biology is out dated in ten years. That's because science is a study not a God. Since history books written by scholars and researchers tell us that civilization started about 6500 years ago (pretty close to the time creationist say human life started.) Do you think it is odd that if humans made all their religions up that it happened so quickly in process of civilization? Sure there are parts of the bible that people may have attempted to change or destroy. But the central theme of the bible doesn't change. Its easy for me to discredit other types of religious writings because they deviate from the main point of the bible. The bible is a collection of writings by different authors that stay to the theme of the bible. I don't think even the brightest of scholars today could accomplish that even if they were assigned to write different parts of book and stay with the main theme. So either their stories of God are true or if these people made all this up and our intelligence is all part of the evolution process then they were incredible geniuses of their time

There are many reasons why people need religion and god. One important reason is that people are afraid of dying, religion gives them the possibility to live forever. It also allows them to belong to something special, bigger and better than this world of uncertainty. Any disagreement endangers that world which they have created where they are the center of the universe. Its basically a fear of facing the truth. As far as the religions that you have mentioned, they all originated from the same beliefs. Islam even admits being the same religion as Christianity and Judaism. Christianity sprang from Judaism. They are the major religions of the world and thus have accumulated more followers.

"In the beginning God..."
...is the proposition the Bible presents you. All can agree that we humans have the ability to study and reason, and thus, it's up to each person to consider this proposition carefully, study what it's asking of us, and decide on it's reasonability.
It's saying:
1. The universe was created
2. There is one Creator
3. This Creator desires certain things from his creation, to whom He has given the ability to choose and discern.
Thus "ethical mono-theism".
The mockery of the Greek/Roman/Egyptian "gods" comes out of these and other ancient cultures' misunderstanding of the powers of nature, and failure to see the interconnectedness of all things.
Abraham came to the conclusion that all these forces have a single source.

WOW. It's ok. Some have no clue and some are guided.
I think it is great that quantum physicists are discovering so much. I think we are discovering soooo much about the world. But it is only by the grace of God. And there is ONLY ONE GOD. Allah has many names and God has created ALL things. It takes a very faith-FULL person with a good head on their shoulders to comprehend this. So if you don't.........well, I'm just sayin.

I don't know about the Bible, but it's amazing to see that the Qur'an is very much aligned with today's scientific discoveries. Nothing is outdated in the Qur'an.
Go check: www.islam.org
You probably want to read these scriptures, before making conclusion like this.

I think it's because it's incredibly hard to believe that we 'evolved' from a single bacteria that appeared on the earth billions of years go.
People also believe that God wrote the bible through men, so they believe in it.
