No, but you should probably see if a psychiatrist can help you. Its insane to leave the truth of Yeshua (Jesus) for a false religion like Islam.

So, whomsoever Allah intends to guide, He expands his bosom for the acceptance of Islam; and whomsoever He intends that he should go astray, He makes his bosom narrow and close, as though he was mounting up into the skies. Thus does Allah inflict punishment on those who do not believe.

Holy Quran

No sacraments or procedures are prescribed for a person who likes to join the faith of Islam. One needs only to pronounce or to believe in the contents of the Declaration of the Faith:

"I bear witness that there is no God but the Almighty God and that Mohammad is a messenger of God."

When a person states that he believes in the truthfulness of Mohammad, he actually states that he believes in all what Mohammad introduced and in all his teachings. This includes all the Qur'anic teachings, all the deeds and all the sayings of Mohammad, whether in the matter of belief or in the area of practice.

When a person believes in the contents of the Declaration of the Faith, he automatically becomes a Muslim. His pronouncement of the Declaration is a proof to the other Muslims that he is a believer in Islam. Because of this, no Muslim can deny him the admission into the faith because he is a believer in Islam and needs nothing more beyond it.

A Muslim convert is equal to any other Muslim in the eyes of the Holy Qur'an. Furthermore, a convert has more advantages than a born Muslim for two reasons:

A convert deserves a bigger reward from God than a born Muslim. A convert becomes a Muslim usually after a great deal of research and some psychological crisis, because changing religion is not an easy task. It takes a great deal of courage and effort on the part of the convert, while a born Muslim receives his religion by inheritance.

A convert is considered, by his conversion to Islam, pure and free of any previous sin. All his previous sins are wiped out entirely. He will be responsible only for the sins which he commits after becoming a Muslim. Thus, if a person becomes a Muslim in the early morning, after sunrise, then he dies before noon, he is entitled to enter paradise without having practiced or performed any of the devotional duties which a Muslim is required to do. He did not have to perform morning prayer because his conversion to Islam took place after sunrise, nor did he have to perform the noon prayer because he did not live until noon, the prayer time.

Assuming which you're truthfully severe, i'd question your ideals with reference to the relative accuracy of the Bible texts and the Quran. The Bible is the main wisely translated e book interior the full of history. As has already been stated, the ineffective Sea Scrolls decrease back up the accuracy of the previous testomony, and the recent testomony texts are the two before and intensely some circumstances better than the different historic text textile. What evidence do you have that any of the texts have been rewritten? as far because of the fact the Quran is going, it wasn't truthfully written by applying Mohammed. He recited it, and others wrote extremely some sayings of his down; yet they weren't accumulated till countless generations later. the explanation they have been accumulated into one text textile became because of the fact there have been differing variations of a few of those sayings, so the ruler on the time accumulated one version right into a e book, and destroyed something.

As salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.

Insha'Allah, if you are truly sincere, I would recommend that the fisrt thing you should do is to read a translation of the Holy Qur'an in the language with which you are the most familiar. Perosnally I would recommnd the translation by A. Yusuf Ali, as it is seemingly very accurate and retains the poetic beuaty of the ARabic language. Of course, if you read Arabic, then read the Qur'an as it is was originally revealed.

Insha'Allah, next learn about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (sallaahu 'alaihi wasallaam) by reading a book like "Muhammad, A Prophet For Our Times" by Karen Armstraong, "Sealed Nectar" (I don't know the author of that work) and "Following in the Footsteps of the Prophet" by Tariq Ramadan.

Insha'Allah, go online to one of the many Islamic sites managed by Muslims ( beware that there are many managed by those who seek to defame Islam) such as
http://www.Islamreligion.com
http://www.islamicity.org
and
http:www.Islamicfinder.com
and learn about Islam, its practices, teachings, etc.

Insha'Allah, at Islamicfinder.com,. locate the nearest mosque/masjid and get in touch with them. Tell them of your interest in Islam, learning to read the HOly Qur'an in Arabic, etc. and go and meet some "real" Muslims. I will let the experieince speak for its self.

If you are then still wanting to convert (the studying must come first as converting to a religion is not a game and should not be taken lightly as we are taught in the Holy Qur'an and the lived example of the Prophet Muhammad (saw)), then you wil be assisted in making your shahada (ash hadu an laa ilaha ill-Allaah, wa ash hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa Rasulu'allah, which may be translsated as I bear witness that there is no god but Allah (swt) and that Muhammad (saw) is His slave and His Messenger/Prophet).

May Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, guide you to the truth.

Ma'a salaam.

regarding the procedure for embracing the religion of Islam, it is actually an extremely simple process, without complication or prolongment. This is because it is something between a person and his Lord and there are no other parties involved. All that is required of a person in order to embrace Islam is that he or she pronounce the two testaments of belief in the Islamic creed, believing in their meaning, then to take a complete bath with the intention of (ritual) purification in order to start performing prayers (note to ensure complete cleanliness one should shave pubic and under-arm hair, and a man should be circumcized if he is not already--Islam places great emphasis on proper hygiene and personal cleanliness).

As for the two testimonies of creed, the first is "ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa allah" (I testify that there is no deity other then Allah), which means that one believes and confirms that there is nothing to be worshipped other than Allah and that one is prepared to implement His divine rulings and guidlines (shari'a) for all aspects of life. The second is "ash-hadu anna muhammad ar-rasool ullah" which means the belief that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the seal of the prophets (i.e. the final one), whom Allah has sent with the Islamic religion to supercede all other previous religions and that it is obligatory to comply with what he has enjoined, and to abstain and renounce all that he has prohibited and restrained.

I tend to gather from your question that there is a degree of pondering on your part or inclination towards embracing the Islamic religion, joining the example of your friend. I would invite you to carry through with it without excessive delay and reluctance, for one does not know when one's fate will come. So why not meet one's unavoidable fate as a believer in Allah (God) and the Hereafter, a member of the religion of Islam? It is the religion which Allah has specified that He will not accept any other religion besides it, and He will not save anyone from Hell besides its followers. And no doubt that this step will be the greatest thing ever that you will have experienced during your 33 years of life. Surely you will not regret it at all and Allah will help you to surmount the difficulties you perhaps may face in your path after accepting Islam, such as the scorn of some relatives or family members or the alientation of some friends. However, the step in fulfilling your destiny is much more important and significant that all this.

We pray for you to be bestowed with grace, and may Allah guide you to success in what is the most true and right.

Waiting for glad tidings in the near future, may Allah guard and protect you.

Salaam Alaykum, We as Muslims I hope certainly not behave as these christian posters. If you have a fundamental understanding of Christianity then you are halfway there because all our prophets are the same...we have some theological differences with Christians on that the bible was revealed in its all books but they overtime were tainted by mans hands. We believe a last prophet Muhammad PBUH
was revealed by angel Gabriel...There is alot more to it but many Muslim's will help you even if you merely have questions. No one should enter Islam without full belief in One God that was not born or one born of him and he had Muhammad as his messenger..Everyone will give you sites
I like Islamicity.com...they have message forum..an ask the Imam. A forum for converts. The information is overwhelming so take your time..When you are ready call your local mosque and mingle with some brothers. We as Muslims should fall to the ground and praise Allah SWT when a soul
decides to make this leap of faith.
Wasalaam

As a Christian all I can say is that I am very ashamed of my so called Christian brothers and sisters who are saying rude comments about your desire to convert. In my opinion, Christians, Jews and Muslims all believe in the same God and whichever path (religion) leads you to have a closer relationship to Him is the path you should choose. Like other people have said, go to your local mosque and find out from the Imam what the conversion process entails. Please don't listen to those ignorant people who are telling you that you're going to go to hell for converting to Islam...because it's just not true. It sounds like there are a lot of people here on YA that are willing to help. May God bless you on your journey!

Asalamualaikum, peace be upon you.

Congratulations on making this wonderful decision!

To become a Muslim, the process is very simple. All you must do is say the Shahada (Declaration of Faith):

ASH-HADU ANLA ELAHA ILLA-ALLAH WA ASH-HADU ANNA MOHAMMADAN RASUL-ALLAH
"I bear witness that there is no deity other than Allah(SWT)
and that Muhammad(PBUH) is his servant and Messenger."

The you have a thorough shower to cleanse and purify yourself. When you convert all your previous sins are forgiven. It is like starting anew, a clean page.

For more info, you could go to a mosque or there are some good sites you can visit. I wish you all the best. May Allah guide you to the straight path. Ameen.

Asalaamu Aleikum
(Peace Be Upon You)

Make sure you are really, really ready with all your heart to accept that there is just 1 almighty God, the First, the Last, and that Mohammed is his final messenger, the seal of the Prophets.

The second step, if you haven't done so already, would really be to find out as much about Islam as you can, but as somebody once told me, don't spend so much time thinking that you miss the train :) lol. Remember that you can become a Muslim without knowing everything, after all, it is the duty of ALL Muslims, born or reverts to seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.

Thirdly, make arrangements to take Shahada, which is one of the 5 pillars of Islam. This can be done in the mosque infront of the Imam with witnesses or if you find yourself unable to do that, then you can always do it on the phone or online by microphone. Howver, taking the Shahada in a mosque would perhaps help involve you more with the Muslim community and meet other Muslims in your area.

The Shahada : - learn to pronounce it with the transliteration;
Ashadu ana la ilaha il allah wa ashadu ana mohammadur rasulullah.
(I testify that there is no god but THE God (Allah) and I testify that Mohammed is the messenger of Allah).

Some other things after you have taken the first few steps;
-Learn about what is haraam (forbidden) and what is halaal (permitted).
-Learn through Hadith (sayings and accounts of sayings of the Prophet PBUH) ways of life and etiquette..
-And of course, if you haven't already, read the Qu'ran
-Learn to pray
-You could learn to read Arabic, because your pronunciation of the Qu'ran will be better if you read from the Arabic alphabet rather than transliteration.

Thanks for your question, may God help you..
I have a big collection of books and e-books which if you need aaccess to, to learn Arabic or to learn the about the religion of Islam then you may e-mail me at jasminebower@btinternet.com and I'll send to you :)

I'll add some links which may help you in the sources :)
