You will need to find a seller and they are not cheap. After the two of you come to a price .You will have to pass a Federal Firearms Examination. If you are cleared, a $200.00 transfer tax will have to be paid by you the buyer. This transfer tax is paid every time the weapon changes ownership. It can only be sold to a ffl class 3 dealer otherwise. You then pay the seller his price and the weapon is shipped to your nearest Class 3 dealer for you to pick up.

This is a major buyer and seller form....several vendors of ww2 Weapons class3 and kits to build them from parts recovered

A mint MG 42 is 20 to 30 thousand dollars

Its a very hungry weapon also 1300 to 1500 rpm depending on how hot the ammo you use

Happy hunting

Jack dont know Jack....

First of all , a Federal Class III weapons permit is needed, contact the BATF for information on getting that(Not as Hard as you might think)

Second, you have to live in a State which allows Class III firearms, ie; Pennsylvania, Texas, Connecticut, etc. rather than New York, New Jersey which do not.

Finally, even if you do get your permit, an all Original MG42 lists for upwards of $40,000.00

There are some places which allow rental shooting on premises, such as Knob creek, Ky. and some others in Nevada

You need a special license to import it. You start with a FFL, Then get a class 3 endorsment, and last but not least you have to live in a state that won't require it to be a non-firing collectoin piece. Navada is reasonable.

The BATFE requires a back ground check to get a FFL. And a class 3 endorsement is expensive.

i know a guy who has one with ammo!! He won't sell it, but his grandfather gave it to him, he got it in Germany during WWII. I saw him shoot it one day and it fires perfectly. Of course it's automatic and is illegal but who cares.
