A Doctor has a Colonostopy sceduled for Nov. 27th, 2007. Should I be concerned? I am only 30, but cancer runs in my family. I also have a Lump about 3 inches from my colon which they are worried about. They already did a Stool Sample and they said there was a form of infection. But they aren't sure what kind. They told me also that my white blood cell count was low and my Liver enzymes were very high. What does this all mean?

Not sure what it all means. but, I dont think you have cancer, this is my feeling. I think you might have pallops (sp)?. If you have an infection then that would be the reason for your white blood cell count being low. and perhaps your bile is messed up as a result = liver enzymes being very high. Do you know most of the things that we worry about never happen? So dont worrry, ask God to cleanse you, and help give you strength.

I think you'll ve okay really.

Well, these are questions you should be discussing with your doctor. A colonoscopy is something that everyone starts doing in their fifties. Well, they should. That you're getting screened now is a bit of a concern, but totally understandable given that there's a mass in there. It could be any number of things. All of your symptoms are cause for concern, which is probably why you went to the doctor in the first place. (Way to go, by the way, for doing that. I know it's scary, but your health is important!)

Get the test before you worry. I found a lot of information on these symptoms independent from one another, but nothing that accounts for them all together.

Good luck to you and I hope it's nothing.

I have no idea what it all means. It's something only your doctor would be able to tell you and even he doesn't know yet until the colonoscopy is done. It's automatic to have concern until you know for certain. Just keep up your courage and determination and when you do know for sure what it is, you will do whatever needs to be done to treat it.

No need to get yourself upset until you get the result of the test. Best thing to do prepare for the worst and be happy when it is not the worst.
