What? No. The government doesn't pay for their medical bills, but the government officials do get major kickbacks from the insurance companies that jack up the price of medical procedures to cover doctor's butts in malpractice claims. Besides, they only tax the snot out of cigarettes and cigars. I can still get a large container of pipe tobacco that will last for about two months for only $5-$7 dollars.

No... Because ALL people get sick and die... whether they smoke or not... People who die sooner save Social Security years of retirement benefits.

Cancer rates are climbing EXPONENTIALLY as fewer people smoke. If the government really wanted people healthier, they'd probably stop putting garbage in the water, spraying chemtrails full of carcinogens overhead, and trying to tell parents it's the law to vaccinate their children with vaccines contaminated with cancer viruses when it is NOT the law.

They probably want people to quit smoking so they have less built-up resistance to airborne contaminants... or to make it less obvious we're being exterminated.

Would you rather be locked in a garage for an hour with a smoker or a running car? This anti-smoking madness is all about getting the majority to turn on a minority and raise taxes on ONLY THEM... Getting people used to "big brother" controlling every aspect of our lives... Cleverly planting the false thought in peoples heads that the government cares about their health when actually they're trying to kill them. Hitler started out with a campaign against smokers.

The more smoking is banned... the more cancer rates continue to increase...

Smoking is safer than fascism.

I disagree. Federal, State and Local governments make far more from the tax they levy than the smokers cost.

Not all smokers are sick right now. My grandfather started smoking when he was 13 years old and was not sick at all. He died when he was in his late 70's. I think the government is losing money on people like him.

Then why did Oregon just try to start a kids insurance program by taxing cigarettes more? Are the kids smoking?
